Uhhh, yeah. It's the same guy that in the same article said no one in the nation has had it harder than him.
No one with cancer, no one who died in a fiery crash, who lost a leg to a skin eating disease......has had it harder than poor, poor JJ. Yeah they may have died but he lost his starting QB job.

Not good at all, devisive. Just keep your mouth shut, and play hard. This was a.bad mistake, just like being involved with the shady incident. Very self centered statement.

I'd argue that the public shouldn't be dissecting everything these kids say.
they are LSU football players and there is a reason they are instructed/coached in what they say to reporters......kids? they are pawns in big business. this isn't HS.

How does it make JJ feel to know that Miles said Mett is his #2 QB after Lee?
Rosetta asked him last night in what he thought was off-the-record. But a news station ran the video, so he went ahead and ran with it as well.
Really? If there's a LINK to that I'd like to see it. I've been assuming that Miles will eventually work Jefferson into the game more and more and prefers him over Mett.

Pretty sure this topic was exhausted a few days back.

quote:Why can't Jefferson be humblre and say something like:
I think a humble player might Have said " I'll play whatever role I'm assinged to help this team win, whether it be from the sidelines or on the field"
quote:Oh, Jefferson said that?
Whatever is best for the team, that’s what I’m going to do.
But did he say it at the same press conference?
He did? Oh.
frick, this thread is stupid.

We all know he wants his job back, I think he should just earn it back and not talk much about it.
So, what would be the diplomatic response, that would avoid your feeling the need to nitpick?

JJ still claims he didn't kick the guy, and there's no proof that he's not (except for couple of questionable witnesses). And it seems claims he wasn't involved in the fght.
So if he's telling the truth, what does he have to regret and be sorry for? Should he apologize for breaking curfew like all of his teammates were doing as well? It's silly.
JJ wants to be the starter. Good for him. I'm glad he has a goal that he wants to attain as opposed to just settling. Means he'll work harder to get what he wants.

It just means he's working hard to be the starter. Why wouldn't he want that? Jarret Lee is the starter right now and I'm sure he's working hard to keep the position.

This individual will cause problems for this team, if he can not keep his mouth shut. Hopefully he can, but I doubt it. Needs to stop putting his shoe in his mouth..

quote:
Just keep your mouth shut
Reporter: "Is it important to you to be the starting quarterback again?"
JJ: "I plead the 5th."
That makes more sense to you?

JJ's comments have not been sitting very well with me either. I see it as a very self centered comment.
Jesus......
quote:
I also didn't like that he was quoted saying that he didn't regret anything that happened and that he just looks at the "incident" as a learning experience.
How is this a bad thing? Many times in life it takes devestating circumstances to mold you as a person. I know this from experience. I've got no issue with JJ saying this.
quote:
No apologies or no "good job" JL for stepping up.
An apology to who? And he did say Lee was doing well.
quote:
By JJ saying that he would do whatever it took to get his starting position back, do you think this puts any undue pressure on JL to over perform in crucial games or crucial 3rd down plays??? Or makes JL have to look over his shoulder at all times??
If Lee can't handle that how the frick do you expect him to handle Courtney Upshaw in his fricking grill all game?
quote:
That is how I would have taken his comments. Why allow him to talk to the press openly and freely?
I agree that he is a tremendous asset to this team as in the double quarterback system. Why let him talk to the press, especially before we go into the meat and potatoes of our schedule?
Because it needed to happen sooner or later and the sooner the better. Also, this is why most women shouldn't comment on sports........ I kid, I kid.

while I do believe he has a chip on his shoulder (by virtue of circumstanes), it should be every player's goal to start. Still, the public wording could be a bit more judicous.
Totally agree with this. Let actions speak louder than words.
Actually I had a bigger problem with the quote and I am paraphrasing that JJ said he had a 20-7 record as a starter. Shouldnt it have been we have a record of 20-7 record in the games I have started???????
Posted on 10/6/11 at 11:20 am to BobBoucher
When a guy say he wanna be the starter , that should be a good thing who n life wanna settle for 2nd best , lee should want Jj to push him for the job , jl didn't win the job it was giving to him , this is his chance to prove he better then Jj ,

Well, when you look in the record books he TECHNICALLY had that record as he DID start the games. They don't stat-track "saves" in football like they do baseball.
