So oJJ can escape their rush defense, but not our RB's?
we shall see. If a play breaks down and the pocket collapses, JL has no where to go. He does not run or scramble. We shall see how are running backs do. But if we become one dimensional with either the run or pass JL is in trouble.

All depends on the oline.

But they both have a role.

I have said in this thread JJ should be used in special situations to help our offense, which is primarily led by JL.

How is that hating JJ?

Again, so you LSU "fans" had conceded a loss to Bama if JJ had not returned to the team?

Bama is really fricking good this year. Their defense in on another level. 5 star seniors built like terminators.

So yes I have more hope with jj for a dual option. I also think jj is physical enough not to be intimidated. Saban has always had problems with dual threat qb's.

I'm sorry what are his ranks in FBS this year?

Honestly, what does he need to do for you? What is your problem with the kid doing well? I get you wanted JJ to be doing it, but why hate on someone who is doing well.....being you're a TIGER fan first and all. What a joke.

I broke it down already.

Practically anytime anyone ever says anything good about JJ, *poof* you appear to bash. Just back off of it.

What exactly would Jlee have to do from here on out that he hasn't done so far, that would elevate his status from not a good player to a good player?

I think Ive asked you this befroe, dont remember getting a response.

I responded in the other thread. It really comes down to how you define "good." I try to compare it not to what's happened here for the past 3 years (which hasn't been good). But to what should be expected from the QB of a top 5 national program.

To me Lee is "solid." I think "good" players are guys who can make an impact on the game. I think great players are ones who can take over.

I don't believe Lee is capable of taking over a game and winning for LSU.

I don't think JJ is either, to be clear.

It was in the other thread:

quote:

You are begging me to get into this debate of what is a "good" player.

Look, I compare Jarrett Lee to what should be nationally acceptable for the starting QB of an NCAA powerhouse.

So where do you draw the line on great/good/average?

You have your top 10 at every position. Those are "great?" Is that fair?

So guys like Landry Jones, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin, Brandon Weeden, Russell Wilson, Kellen Moore etc.

He's not in the same realm of those guys, wouldn't you agree? But those are the "great" players.

After that, I try to judge based on stats. Lee throws it 15-20 a game for us, at most. So, not much. Our offense is not designed to be dependent on him. Therefore, it's hard, IMO to get a read on what type of numbers he'd put up if he was dropping back 40+ a game and winging it around.

Lee is 22nd in passing efficiency. That's good.
His QB rating is 23rd. That's good.
YPA is 34th in the nation. Solid.
Completion percentage is 60%. Dead average.

It's hard to quantify TDs/Yards, etc. since he doesn't get to throw as much as say, Landry Jones or Matt Barkley.

In my opinion, Lee wouldn't be capable of dropping back 40 times a game and winning it for us (nor Jefferson).

So, I guess I should say he is "good." I don't think he's a "difference maker."

I do.

I have my doubts against bama though. Like it or not, jj is not scared of contact. He is quite physical. I remember him leveling mark baron last year.

To be fair, Lee hasn't been given the chance to take over a game in the last 3 years.

The best part is when he accuses others of the exact same things he does. It's very entertaining.

Do you not think there is a reason for that?

And before you say, "it's Les ball." He let Jamarcus take over games and wing it. He let Flynn as well.

I think there is a reason Lee is protected and asked to throw only 15-20 times a game. Same with JJ.

JJ is a better runner then blue and Magee and equal to ware with a real threat to pass.

So you believe that JJ is a better runner than Blue or Ford?
You also believe that JJ is every bit as good of a RUNNER as Ware?

Jeez, I don't know why we don't just line him up at tailback if that was the case...

This is true. One spear to,the chest full speed in front of the official. That would have taken anyone out for a bit. Cant remember the other one. He still looks stronger this year too. He is in the top 10% in the weight room. We shall see, but we will need both, no doubt.
