To me its about people hating JJ and not knowing about Wing. But they take a moral stance that what JJ did was so wrong and when it comes out that Wing has been accused of the same thing there is no uproar. Which is pretty much the definition of being a hypocrite.

Wing's apparently wasn't as public as JJ's.

Having said that, I think most people just don't want JJ on the field because of his poor play. Some are going to try to justify it by saying it's because of Shadygate, but the honest ones will say it because they think JJ is not the best QB on the team.

The latter describes me. I'm glad for JJ he is back on the team. What happened to him I think was a witch hunt. But JLee has seized the opportunity and has earned his place on the field. It's unfortunate for JJ, but it's best for the team.

I will not boo JJ, but I'm not cheering just because he comes into the game either. I'll save the cheering for when he scores.

I think the best he can hope for is silence. Some idiots will boo and others will cheer to try to cover them up. Whoever our opponents are will be confused and think we are nuts.

Don't think so. He put himself in that position. No one was hunting for something to do this to him.....people in law had to abide by the law......not a hunt.......

sad it happened.......but you got to say it helped LSU by putting JL at QB and LSU winning and being # 1. We will never know if JJ would have done the same. If we looked at JL's past performance we would have not believed he would be capable of leading LSU this way. Too bad we will never know about JJ. I think he should have to prove himself in practice just like the rest of the players......and not just thrown into the game unless it's at the Wildcat formation and he runs with the ball.....but what about Mett....who has been there backing up JL...hat about some rewarded playing time for him.....what's fair? Only Miles knows.......

I have no problem with people saying that. The ones who want his life ruined over a barfight is who I have a problem with. JJ doesn't deserve all the hate just b/c he wasn't a good enough QB in some of our fans eyes....hell JL played worse than JJ ever did and look at him now. LSU is one play away from needing JJ.

Yes he has. JJ will play but he won't start. I don't think CLM will play him if the game is close and still in doubt.

Just because a charge was knocked down to a lessor charge doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong or stupid, doesn't mean he wasn't where he should have been on that night, doesn't mean he didn't let this team and coaches down, doesn't mean he didn't put his team in a tough spot
It does mean he was arrested, charged, and suspended four games for something he apparently did not even do. He was not arrested for being where he shouldn't have been, he was not arrested for letting his coaches down, he wasn't arrested for doing something stupid. He was arrested for 2nd degree battery, and the people who have actually seen the evidence have declared that it is not even sufficient to give the prosecution a chance to make the case in a trial. That puts him as close to innocent of the charge as you or I, or anyone else. He and Johns served a four game suspension because of that arrest for what he did not do, and have paid a far heavier penalty than they should have (and far more than any of the other guys who were also there and served the normal discipline of running til they puke and then running some more).

If you want to cheer somebody loudly when he comes in, cheer JL.
I don't know about you, but when I'm at a game I don't have any problem cheering loudly for all the players.

Do you know how witch hunts got started in the 1600's? Usually someone got upset with someone else and falsely accused them of witchcraft. It was the liar's word that was used as proof that the accused was practicing in dark magic. So, technically, unless you think Lowery didn't lie, it was kinda a witch hunt.

Should we applaud the embarassment that was brought on at a national level? Not just as a football team, but university as well. We defend the tradition of breaking curfew but this one small infraction was like the snowball rolling down hill for JJ until he reached the bottom looking like the Michelin Man

He does NOT deserve a freaking standing O. PLease. He broke the rules put himself in a compromising position and fortunately for him had some grace dispensed his way. I am glad he is back, hopefully he learned a valuable lesson from his mistake and can move forward. Standing Ovation?! I dont think so.

We have no control over the media or BRPD, with the exception of holding rallies outside their offices and booing them. Even then, that won't change the damage they've done.

What does indicted mean to you? Josh Johns has a beef, because apparently he was arrested, went through all the same things that Jefferson did, and the Grand Jury decided there WAS NO CASE. Jefferson on the other hand, had enough evidence against him that the Grand Jury decided he needed to stand trial. But then again, according to the logic presented here, the Grand Jury was no doubt populated with racists and Jefferson haters.

It means, apparently, that the injuries weren't the result of JJ kicking anyone in the head.

JJ's been through the ringer.

I would be ok with a big ovation/show of support.

Lee got the same this season.

The guy has been through a lot, and from the grand jury's perspective, what he has been through was unwarranted. Most would agree that he is a good guy, not a thug that got away with something. He is LSU through and through and deserves a big cheer.

If any fricker cheers for this dude I will be the first to boo

Sorry. Please try again. It is all about the ability of the DA being able to prove intent to harm (as stated by the current and past DA, a very difficult test). Has nothing to do with whether injuries were caused by him kicking the victim in the head.

LOUISIANA SECOND DEGREE BATTERY LAW
LSA-R.S. 14:34.1
A. Second degree battery is a battery when the offender intentionally inflicts serious bodily injury; however, this provision shall not apply to a medical provider who has obtained the consent of a patient.
B. For purposes of this Section, "serious bodily injury" means bodily injury which involves unconsciousness, extreme physical pain or protracted and obvious disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ, or mental faculty, or a substantial risk of death.
C. Whoever commits the crime of second degree battery shall be fined not more than two thousand dollars or imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than five years, or both.

Thanks for playing though-we have some fine consolation prizes you can pick up on the way out.

Read what I wrote again. We are speaking in legal terms and I specifically used the word apparently. Good try though.

all you people need to realize your in the minority with the whole JJ is bigger than the team angle.

I cheer LSU as a team, no one player is bigger than the team, especially one that has preformed as poorly as he has on the field.

I swear all of you bleeding heart idiots act as if JJ is returning from a bout with cancer or something.

I will not cheer when he enters the game, no more than I would cheer when a pass rushing d-lineman enters the game on a third down.
