I know alot of people on here think JJ is the next great QB at LSU but does anyone really think that RS wont be our starting QB until he is a senior? At what point does RS take over? I say no way this year maybe sometime next season

I am still not sold that he takes over at all. I would love to see him take an actual snap or play for a quarter in a college game before making that assumption.

Shepard might want to transfer I hear from rant that Chris Garrett is taking over once Jefferson leaves anyway.

This could very well happen.

he could easily start fulltime, but it would mean a totally different scheme and pretty much negate alot of our recruiting over the last few years.

I don't think RS ever takes over as the starter. I think he plays the change of pace role that RP and Hatch have played the last couple years this yr though.

I know, RS would have been the perfect recruit for Rodriguez and what he likes to do.

you are gonna be grouped in with the stooges.

What about CG?
how about JL?
why do you see this as a two man race?
Please, help me understand.

Once again, in a thread that JL wasn't mentioned, you are the first to bring him up.

RS will be our starter as a junior. After JJ leaves early for the NFL. He's got the skill set.

Jefferson is a sophomore and RS is a freshman. That means Jefferson could start this year and next (soph. and jun. seasons), and he could possibly leave for the NFL. That would mean RS takes over as a junior and senior as starting quarterback. I think he would be pretty happy with that, especially since he will be contributing in so many other ways until then

His throwing needs a lot of improvement. I'm not saying that it won't get there by his JR year, but there are guys on the roster that are better pure passers.

Remember that AT LEAST 85% of a QB's job is to get the ball to his receivers.

I mean it is a qb thread and JL is a qb.
Sorry if that bothers you pal.

Don't get me wrong, he definitely needs to improve his throwing. He's extremely raw. But he has the physical tools to be an NFL quarterback. And I think two more years of experience and coaching will get him there.
