this is funny as hell. JJ isn't fearing a DT barreling down on him, do you not remember when he got speared in the chest and fricked up at Bama in 09 and he took a bunch of tough hits and even though he was injured he was trying to get back into the game. Numerous times he would step into a rush and get layed out throwing a ball at one of the WR. I can say that yes he was terribly inaccurate last year, held onto the ball to long, and locked onto recievers, but that can be improved and from the looks of it he is more accurate now. Wondering if it is his mechanics that Krags has fixed because that would explain a lot of the praise.

Oh and again, please link these praises from anybody last year during spring-summer offseason. If you cannot document it then it is not fact just your dumbass opinion.

It happened last summer as well.

When? Besides the expected quotes from Miles and maybe a couple of quotes from the camp...when has JJ ever received this much praise and hype from "experts" and former players?

Also, when has he been compared against elite QBs and looked favorable?

Here is one tweet that Mort posted on JJ at the 2010 Manning Academy:

quote:

quote: RT @lwfrank: @mortreport hey Mort, how did J. Jefferson look? >> LSU QB had some good moments. Release is actually a little too over the top.

Verses what Mort had to say at the 2011 camp:

quote:

RT @ABXXV25: @mortreport jordan jefferson is a pretty impressive looking athlete. How do their drops look? >> Jefferson much improved

Last summer. Coming from the Manning camp we all heard how improved he was. All fall we heard this as well.

Proof will be when he is in competition this fall. We will see. Unlike some folks, I believe its what you do in the games that matter.

You're being dishonest if you suggest that the level of praise is in the same universe between the information coming out of the 2010 and 2011 camp. Last camp he 'had some good moments' and they talked about his shitty mechanics. This year.. not the same whatsoever.

I don't think he's going to set the world on fire.. but I expect him to throw for nearly 2,500 and 20 TD/6 INTs

Anyone got any links of these please? You are quick to post a link of his stats but non of this "high praise" nonsense.

I can be just annoying as Rudy posting 109 of 118 and 7 games no tds or Doc posting a LaTech pic everytime Lee was mentioned in last year's offseason.

I didn't link any stats. I gave a rough estimate of what I think he'll do this season.. and there are plenty of links throughout the forum about the levels of praise he has received this year.

I looked around the web-ernet quite a bit, regarding the Manning Passing Academy. There was some material out there on other quarterbacks, but almost nothing on Jefferson.

That tweet from Mort on JJ's "over the top" release is about the only thing I found.

Regardless, the positive feedback on JJ this year is far more encouraging than last year. Last year was a lot about "the kid's potential". This year it's all about "improvement".

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Why even waste a comment on these haters who know nothing about football and offer nothing but hate-mongering.

I have no doubts that these losers watch a game and only see one LSU player on offense because their lynch mob mentality refuses to look at anything but number 9 with the hopes they can find EVERYTHING possible to bitch about on a forum. Attention whores. Cry so someone will pay attention to them.

It's impossible for these idiots to let a single positive thing to be mentioned about their object of hatred... not a single positive point will slip by the waste of life haters.

1. This praise is good news concerning his mechanics, drops, etc as they have always been pretty bad. So that is good and I don't remember hearing that type of specific improvement before now.

2. It is still best not to get overly excited about him "blowing away" or out performing the other QBs there. Unless this event has drastically changed, it is not a camp for the College or NFL guys. They're just there to help run the camp and put the kids through drills and what not. Then they throw the ball around during breaks, at the end of the day, etc.

The rantards are outdoing themselves in this thread. The negativity and sarcasm is off the charts.

Just wanted to add something else positive about JJ this offseason. It was posted in the Paul Turner thread, but was overlooked as far as JJ is concerned.

quote:

Turner is already getting work at the position. While the coaches can't schedule mandatory workouts during this point in the offseason, the offensive and defensive captains set up the one-on-one and seven-on-seven workouts each afternoon. LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson calls the offense's plays and schedules meetings for his team.

Seems like JJ has really turned the corner and is being a leader for his team. Whatever the pundits are saying might be hype, but what I posted above is the most encouraging thing I've read about JJ in his tenure at LSU.

You are being a dip if you think I ever suggested it was.

Any talk of improvement is just talk. We all hope JJ is improved simply because he will be the starter, period. It's in all our best interest.

Simply because you believe the hype doesn't mean it will happen. I don't believe or disbelieve, it's f'king practice and camp and until the games start, mean nothing.

No man I was just talking about all the people who constantly say that they've heard this before but can't post a single link to back it up but the constant stat sheet gets thrown around every single thread.

Sometimes I think some of these people have gotten ideas implanted into their memory by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Meh. It would be best if I didn't drink a shite load of tequila while swimming in my neighbor's pool when they go out of town. But guess what I'll be doing tonight?

Hey believe what you want dude. I am saying I and i would be happy to bet a good portion of fans want to see improvement on the field before we buy in!
