I really couldn't care less about Hawthorne. I usually don't have to hear him as I am either at the game or watching on tv.

I'm good..thanks. Point I was making is the only way Innes gets such a job is if Scooby buys it for him, a la the Cox HS football game gig.

I think Kent Lowe would make a wonderful play by play guy for football and basketball.

...not to mention the guy literally messes up about 50% of the play by play

That's MY complaint. If you're not actually IN the stadium watching the game, it's difficult to follow the game with his play by play. He's late on calls, changes his initial call too often and doesn't give lineup changes or the score enough. You would be lost if it weren't for Doug Moreau telling us what's going on.

I don't mind the "whining" when LSU is playing bad. It's not the job of a play by play or color guy to be an on-air cheerleader for the university as all the puckering up cheerleader fans think. Just tell us "what be hapnin" down on the field.

"And he's in for the score." Jimbo needs to come up with another term when the Tigers score a touchdown. That one is worn out.

I can live with JH though, the one I can't stomach is that Kevin Ford. Don't know how he got or keeps that gig every year. His pre and post game performance is really bad. Sounds like a high school kid on the air.

Also, we need an ex-football player as the Sideline Reporter (To replace giggling Jordy Hultberg) to give us a more serious and knowledgeable account (The straight poop) from the sidelines. Hultberg comes off as almost like a cartoon character down there. I mean really, it's a joke. Why does LSU have an ex-basketball player doing sideline reports during a football game?

Get Gordy Rush or Greg Bowser down there starting in 09. They are both ex-players and have decent on-air voices. Let Jordy take over for Ford as the Pre and Post game host and get KF totally off the air. That would give LSU the best opportunity to NOT be embarrassed during a football broadcast. This should have been done a long time ago and without any urging by the fans/alumni.........

I know I'm a homer, but I really do think Doug Moreau is truly one of the best in the business at his analyst job on radio.IMO,doesn't sugar coat it and if LSU is slopping around,he says so.

actually ur wrong there pal. just because someone has radio experience doesn't mean they can do better. I tell u what go find some podunk school and ask if u can do their radio then maybe we'll see how good u think u are. Get over it already. like someone already u proably would've had Harry Caray replaced if u could've

until you can do better, STFU
I've never understood why anyone thinks this is a winning argument, especially when discussing someone's professional abilities.

When you take your car to the garage, pick it up and it's still got the same problem, or if the pipes still leak when the plumber leaves, or if the lights still flicker when the electrician pulls out of the driveway, do you tell yourself, "Well, until I can do it better, I can't complain?"

I doubt it very much.

It will take a hell of a lot more dumb fricks like you to shut me up. Go do yourself a favor and kill yourself. At least I will stfu if you do that.

Unless the announcer is boring (like the Braves' announcers always were) I dont pay much mind. They are all adequate. I like Jim.

Even though I agree that that argument is very annoying, it's just as annoying when people say, "he sucks, we could get ANYONE else and he would do better!!!" Those people are just looking for something to complain about.

If I hear this one more time, I'm going to gouge my eyes out. There's thousands of LSU fans out there. Does that mean they are qualified to call a game?

My problem with Jim is that he calls it like he sees it. Unfortunately, no one else sees it the way he does, because the reality is that it happened differently.
