Damn...

How about a Butch Burger and a free choice of a Flaming Jordy, Geert Grenade, or Brady Sour to wash it down? Or a Smoked Laval Sausage sandwich? Does Brady's still make a Nikita Mesquita Wilson Honey Bun Sandwich? Can I still get the John Williams Hot plate of Ribs, wings, Hogshead cheese, and melon? Damn...that Tac Turnover does sound good, though...or the Terry Martin Surprise.

Let it be. Keep the man and lets move on. He loves the Tigers and he will miss a call sometimes. Who on this board does not miss out on calls or doing things right at their jobs. If we were looked at like Jim is being looked at then all of us would be out of a job. Like Saban said its time to move on let it be.

I'm not sure what is so difficult to understand about this.

I wish the people defending him would go back and listen to the bottom of the 12th again.

He didn't sound upset or depressed when Gibbs popped up to open the inning.

He was rambling on about something during the first two or three pitches of the Katz AB, only mentioning Katz swinging and missing in passing. Then when Katz smoked the ball out into left center he didn't even get excited like he normally does for deep fly balls. I wonder why. Hmm....because he thought the game was about to be tied and he was going to be stuck there for more extra innings.

He did get excited when Leon hit the ball to deep right. I wonder why. Hmm....he thought the game was going to be over and he could go home.

So then the game was tied and he was all upbeat...until Dozar struck out, because that meant it looked like he was going to have to stay there for more extra innings.

After the strikeout he went completely silent, after several moments and someone probably telling him he has to talk he says "well, there is really nothing to say". Hanagriff then says "well you can give Delatte's numbers". Surely a "true Tiger fan" would have been happy that the game was tied and they weren't about to lose, right?

Delatte swings and misses and he barks "You gotta be kiddin me". He takes another strike two then Jim just lets out a loud *sigh* as if to say "Fvck me, this game isn't going to end here".

THAT is the problem. Not that he makes mistakes on a regular basis or doesn't know the game very well. We could deal with that knowing he was at least trying. But it makes it difficult to deal with when he makes those mistakes and doesn't know the game when it is obvious he doesn't even give a shite about being there and that the game is just an annoyance to him, and he really doesn't even try to hide that fact.

Cut Hawthorne some slack anytime ESPN or CBS plays an SEC audio bit for a "game changing performance" Hawthorne sounds awesome most other announcers sound like idiots. He stands out as a good radio voice commentator.

Dude was tired from a sloppy, long drawn out ball game. Other announcers show there frustrations after long games and describe the game way less detail so shut up!!

As far as him not knowing anything about baseball, he describes if a pitcher is working out stretch or windup, he describes how LSU or another team is winning or losing. If a pitcher is using a change up or breaking ball. He'll admit LSU's weakness like our batters not being patient and working the opposing pitcher. So your arguement has zero validity.
He broke down how USC's Propchzeck was owning us in the 98CWS with a 45mph change up.
Or how Brian Tallet was so dominant because of his 6'10 frame throwing down at the batter in 2000.
As long as he's calling out 6,4,3 double plays, shows excitement win we get hits, and not getting drunk like Harry Karry. That's all you can ask for!!!

bottom line is hawthorne needs to go

he is miserable and doesn't want to be there

he gets annoyed on air about lsu playing

he loves his paycheck, just not the jobs he is paid to do

bow out gracefully Jim, before you are forced out

It's not that he makes an occasional mistake! He is constantly missing things and is so down right stupid! If I performed at that level doing my job I would get fired!!!

same arguement. why cant we have someone who loves the tigers AND does his job?

if i made the same # of mistakes at my job that Jim contantly makes AND brought a shitty attitude to work everyday I would have been fired years ago

Maybe he makes the mistakes on purpose to make sure your listening. Maybe he does it to make it entertaining.

Lol ok Doc, I'm dumb.

Everyone involved in that game as well as most people listening wanted that game to end, but God forbid Jim feel the same way.

It wasn't in the Tigers' best interest for that game to continue for several reasons, that was Jim's point. Sorry you guys obviously missed it.
