I wish I could be as pumped for next year as I was for this year. Our schedule is way tougher than anyone else in the conference while Bama has a cakewalk.

Our D should be good, but our O will have to be playing top shelf out of the gate to help the D.

IMO, JJ coming back last year actually hurt the team because he then got all the snaps Mett should have received.

(ETA-Just look at Rivers. What if Mett was injured? How many times has he thrown a pass?)

The biggest problem I have with the way this staff handles QBs is that there is no concerted effort to get backups into game situations and throwing passes. It's always garbage time handoffs.

Yes we win, and yes backups have thrown passes. But we all know it isn't to the level it should be--especially in the blowouts we have had in the past.

Imagine how much better Mett would have been if he had 20% of the snaps JJ got last year.

Next year, our defense is going to take a HUGE step back.

I disagree with this statement. Our defense will never take a huge step back under Chavis. He's too good of a coach with very talented players not to mention we have played alot of freshman this yr. Nobody knows for sure if we lose Minter. Yes we lose Reid and Loston but Ronald Martin will step in and be a solid player for one of those two. I'm not worried about our D-line one bit we have some very good backups. So with that being said the only player I would say we miss the most is Reid. We have two good corners and really good LB's to step up. I dont know what LSU defense you watched this yr but we will be fine on D next yr IMO!!

Yeah you guys do usually play a harder schedule than we do.Playing UF every year is pretty tough when they're good and it looks like they'll be again next year.Plus you guys play Gerogia next year.Tennessee is our permanant rival from the East and there's really nothing we can do about it, it's not our fault that they're terrible but I see what you're saying, playing them right now is a lot easier than playing Florida.

I agree about backup qbs should pas more to get experience in blowouts, we seem to do the same thing. Our backup is Blake Sims and he pretty much just comes in and hands off and runs read option plays in blowouts.I don't remember him throwing a pass all season.I hope AJ comes back next year because our backups have no experience passing the ball in in-game situations,

They definitely won't start, loston and Martin are the starters next year.

But next year looks very promising with all the young talent playing this year.

It's going to be hard. Our D will be weak at D-Line and CB. yes we have recruits coming in but none the less the drop off will be apparent and might lose us a game or two. The transition in the offseason from depending on the D to depending On the O.

Simon, Mills and Loston return and Martin, Collins, Eugene and Thompson all played a ton this year. If Minter stays the LB corps will be stupid good. As for the DL, Freak and Ego will be good in the middle and Rasco, Maclin, Hunter and Allen will be more than capable. We'll be fine next year.

What are you talking about?? Sometimes I wonder if some of the posters even watch any of the LSU games at all or what I mean thats a dumbass post. We have all the of our corners coming back next yr and two were freshman this yr. Can this be any more of an idiotic comment. Our D-line is never weak no matter who leaves yr after yr. We have recruits and underclassman who can step right in. This is LSU we reload!!!!

Just curious, do you even watch any of the games?

Out of the 3 CBs that see significant time (Simon, Mills, and Collins) 2 are freshman. Micah Eugene also plays a lot in nickel sets. He too is a freshman.
