If you're going to make an inaccurate statement, expect to be called on it.

Does it help him or the team? We need to stay positive and let this thing play out a little...

Remember Clayton Williams? Was going to be governor of Texas until he made a gaffe/joke analogizing a woman being raped. He said "if it's inevitable, might as well lay back and enjoy it".

That's how I see Miles' tenure here. It's inevitable so I do my best to lay back and enjoy it.

But I still call it rape.

A better way to say it is Jennings is at times effective, and slowly improving. He's learning to maintain his composure after miscues and is gradually gaining confidence in his abilities. He's not getting as rattled as he was early in the season, and at times has executed under extreme pressure. Yes, his passes are inaccurate more often than not, and he still suffers an occasional brainfart, but he's all we have at the moment, and last weekend did enough to beat the #3 team in the country. Let's see if he can achieve that same feat in two weeks.

Your analogy is improper and a poor fit. It applies to you far more than it applies to me.

In your analogy, the poor man covets money but does not have it.

You are the one who wants a different coach and scheme. You are the one who feels like he is getting raped and "does his best to lay back and enjoy it."

I am the one who wants exactly what this coach and scheme delivers in abundabce, far more than any other coach: victories.

Like Marcus Aurelius, Miles focuses on "first principles." He does not complicate things with gloss on top of gloss.

Total yards, points, and "balanace" between passes and runs are not the thing in itself. They are merely a means to the thing.

Miles doesn't have a playmaker at QB right now. Jennings isn't one

While Jennings struggles at times, I believe he has demonstrated at lease some play making ability. The pass to beat the Hogs. The 80 yd TD pass to Dural Vs. Wis. The 40 yd TD 4th quarter pass to Diarse vs. Wis. The 40 yd pass completion on 3rd and 25 in the 4qt at Fla. The 10 yd TD pass at Fla. to take the lead toward the end of the 4th at Fla. The winning TD pass vs. Old Miss.

I am not saying Jennings is great or he is responsible for the win this weekend or that he is the football equal to Chris Jackson...just saying Jennings has make some "playmaker" type plays in his short LSU career.
