He wasn't great, but that's okay. He didn't hurt the team, either. He'll get better with experience.

Okay I am hoping Jefferson is the man this year....I think he is LSU's best option...I just don't think he was very good last night either...but for some reason he seems to be off limits of criticism...guess its because so many others facets of last night's game were worse.

The only complaint I have with JJ is that he needs to learn to slide. He won't make it through the season if he doesn't. JJ had a solid performance IMO.

He didn't throw any pick6's, which is already a huge improvement from the majority of what we saw from the quarterback play from last year.

baby steps. It is his 3rd start.

NO PICK 6's!!!!!!!!!!!! honestly that's all i asked from him and he provided. Jarrett Lee threw a pick in every single game last year. good job JJ

exactly. That the QB didn't turn the ball over is actually pretty huge in this instance...

please give an example of what he didnt do well. ild love to hear what you have to say. he missed a few passes, which all qbs do. he had no blocking, made smart decisions, threw the ball away. he doesnt call the plays so dont tell me he didnt throw the ball downfield.

I wasn't too impressed with the way he threw the ball, but I blame a lot of that on Les for not letting him getin a rhythm. Lafell and Toliver are probably our 2 best offensive players---let him throw them the fricking ball. I do, however, love what Jefferson brings with his feet. That is a huge dimension added this year.

yeah theres far bigger issues out there than jj. especially with tolliver showing flashes we can bump passing to the bottom of the list

If average means not turning the ball over, then I'll take that.

Guess I should try and watch the game again, although it will be painful. I just didn't see Jefferson play the same game most of you guys apparently saw. Is it because he is more mobile than Lee was last year and made some decent gains on the ground? His throwing was very inconsistent IMO.
He threw 3 TD's and didn't turn the ball over once. I'll take that over a pick sixer who can throw a pretty fade anyday of the week.

Dude played extremely well. He secured the ball when he ran. He threw the ball into the seats when necessary. He was under pressure the entire game. He threw a couple of easy passes that were dropped.

plus he ran for 50 yards and pitched the ball nicely to Keiland on the option. Several of his incompletions were excellent throw aways and Dickson dropped one that could have been caught. The throw to Lafell in the endzone was outstanding!

You must not be seeing what I saw. There were plenty of times the Washington defensive players were in his face and he showed great escapability. He also knew when to throw it away and that counted for 3 or 4 of his incompletions. When he ran, he gained 8, 9 yards or more. He had NO turnovers which is a nice change from last year's QB mess. We would not have won this game with Lee. Jefferson made a huge difference.
