man, i just read that shite on ESPN.com .. JJ comes off as a complete and utter jerk ... he hasn't been humbled by all of this in the least little bit .. what's with the comment about nobody in this country going through what he did ... fricking what ?? how about just admit that you made a mistake, compliment the job JL has done so far, and just say you want to be a part of the team and do whatever is needed of you to help the team have a successful season and shut your fricking mouth ..

Has anyone else in the country been forced to undergoing DNA swabs, having their property confiscated, and been wrongfully accused by an overaggressive and incompetent police department of a felony stemming out of a bar fight, only to have the felony dismissed six weeks later by a two day Grand Jury proceeding?

I'd bet solid money that this has never happened anywhere else.

But if you have an example, I'm all ears.

I'll hang up and listen.

Yea, but now Jordan Jefferson is, in his own words, "a lot more wiser, a lot more smarter."

Oh, wait. My degrees are from the same university this guy attends.

i still want to know who paid this "good lawyer" and how they paid this "good lawyer" .. it was funny that nathan fisher had to slip out the back door because of pressure relative to his representation being an illegal benefit .. well, unglesby's retainer dwarfs fisher's .. the average working stiff couldn't afford unglesby ..

I agree with all of this Antonio. The kid has gone through a lot over a bar fight.

HOWEVER, with that being said I don't like how he handled that interview at all. Same shite he's been doing for a few years now when he gets in front of a camera. He sounds like a guy that still doesn't get it and I've been one of his biggest supporters on this board. Not once in that interview did he sound remorseful or apologetic for putting his team in this predicament in the first place. When the fights starting breaking out he should have gone and hid in the bathroom or some shite. And saying he wants the starting spot back is just bullshite. Lee has been leading the offense and doing a fine job so there's no reason to bench the kid. I'm just starting to be ready for Jefferson to fricking graduate.

He didn't say that. He said he couldn't imagine anyone going through what he's been through. He's probably right. The police investigation was a huge play up for the media and an incompetent mess. He served a four game suspension because the BRPD is a joke.

I'm sure police investigations have been screwed up worse than this for bigger crimes, but this was text book incompetence. I seriously doubt that DNA testing has every been used for a bar fight prior to this.

There is not one quote that I've read that makes him seem like a pompous a-hole. No matter what he said, his detractors were going to find some way to spin into him being "selfish" or "arrogant." Hell, they were doing it before the interview even started.

Just read the ESPN article. JJ sounds like a douche the entire time. Seems to me he thinks he is owed something.

what he said could be taken in a number of contexts without expanding on exactly what his meaning was ... and why even bring the shite up in that light ? there's absolutely no remorse at all and he takes no responsibility at all for putting himself in that position ... he is just playing the victim here and he was wronged and he feels now that he was wronged, he should be handed his starting position back ... he sounds like he is taking the angle of "you see coach miles .. i was wrongfully accused .. the grand jury says i didn't do it, so i should have my job back now .." this is what it comes off sounding like ..

and that's not enough for you ?? the last thing he needed to do in his first public opportunity after this incident is to sound like a pompous a-hole for even one second ..

Cliff Notes:

"My personal goal is to be the starter," said Jefferson, who was permitted by LSU to speak to reporters Monday night for the first time since the Aug. 19 fight. "I am going to do whatever it takes to get there."

“I can't imagine anybody in the country going through more than I did. But, I'm now wiser and more aware. God puts people in certain situations. I don't regret anything.”

"I was positive I was going to play at LSU again," Jefferson said. "This was a tough experience for me. Sitting there watching the guys play all these tough games was the hardest thing I've done in my life. They did a great job.”

"This was a learning experience for me. I can't imagine anybody in the country going through more than I did. But, I'm now wiser and more aware. God puts people in certain situations. I don't regret anything. Everything happened for a reason. I've learned a lot from this."

"You never know how popular you are until situations like this," he said. "I was just trying to go out and be a college student that night. I was enjoying myself with my teammates. A certain situation turned up. The position you play for the football team can cost you a lot and put you in trouble."

"I would have redshirted if I thought I'd miss seven or eight games. But, I only missed four games," he said. "There is a lot of time left in the season."

"I don't feel like I'm behind," Jefferson said. "I've been working out a lot. I've been in the toughest battles there are. I have a 20-7 record which is very high for a quarterback at LSU. I've been leading LSU for three years. When coach (Les) Miles puts me in, I can help this team win."

"I have to accept responsibility for being there," Jefferson said. "I know I shouldn't have been there, but everything happens for a reason. I'm a lot wiser.

"I received a lot of support from different areas. Coach Miles and the team were behind me 100 percent when it was needed. When I get the opportunity to get back on the field, I'll do what it takes for us to win."
