it has nothing to do with the schedule or the last game. its an issue of the whole team. you can't make the comparison when there are this many variables in an offense from year to year.

It seems to me that jefferson isn't comfortable yet or doesn't have the confidence to throw the ball before the reciever breaks. His release is so fricking slow, and the defenders have time to get back into position to make a play on the ball. Bottom line, he is not turning the ball over and is only going to improve.

Lee never had a single game as good as JJ's game against Moo-state.

I know its cruel, but the Hideo Nomo reference someone made several weeks ago is hilarious

plus you can't argue JUST the QB makes the difference

Actually I'm not arguing that.

But, if they are going to commit to Jefferson, then commit to Jefferson. Let him run the package. He knows the spread, he ran it in high school. Quit wasting downs w/ i-formation or power running. Let him run it.

But, even if the other qb's are out of the equation this offense is still not good.

It does have to do with the sch. we played on the road for more games against better teams.
Wash. may still win the pack 10.Moo state will make a bowl.

if the problems with this O started at the QB, I'd see your point, but that obviously isn't the main issure with this offense. i agree, they beat their heads against the wall on shite that doesn't work.

Gotygers you are an idiot. But here's a link for you. Look it up.

'08 after full season, offense ranked 51

'09 after the cream puffs, offense ranks 91

LINK

Note, you will have to change to 2008 to see that year's stats. I trust you can handle that.

Last year we could run the ball

Marcus Randall (former LSU Quarterback) said on the Morning After Show on Sunday that until we develop a resepcted consistent passing game we will not be able to run the ball. I'll submit to Mr. Randall's expertise on this subject.

you have to do one to set up the other. with our weak OL, the pass will obviously have to set up the run. its usually the other way.

yes but the 09 ranking of 91 is against the soft part of the schedule and the 08 ranking of 51 was against the entire schedule.

OLine def needs to come together, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Jefferson staring down 1 reciever

Has anyone else noticed that Jefferson from the snap stares at one reciever. Bad things can happen when doing that. He should have about three or four interceptions to his name because of it, but I guess bad football teams can't make interceptions when the ball hits them in the chest. That's maybe another reason for Randle only having one catch is because he doesn't even look for Randle, except for about once a game. Bad things are to come for this guy, I hope I'm wrong, but he needs to scan the field better and he will be a great QB if that happens.

Jefferson definitely does not do this. This is exactly what Lee did all of last season. Jefferson is decent and scanning the field.

they generally cut the field in half for Jefferson. I trust he can see only half the field...

Very true. Just checked the stats.

Man please stop, Jefferson finds the weaker DB and plays against his ability... I can see that in every game I've watched. And Randle just needs to learn how to catch, he has thrown to Randle and Randle has dropped all but one pass...

Certainly Jefferson has things to improve on but staring receivers down is certainly not one of them. He definitely looks for his primary receiver in a pattern (which hes supposed to do) but if its not there, he has done a good job of checking down to other options. He does need to work on clock management and getting the ball out a little sooner, but thats just nitpicking. Hes done a helluva job thus far and im pretty confident things will come together unlike the rest of the rant.
