I think Jefferson gives us a better chance that's all. And I agree on the booing face punch thing

Doesn't turn the ball over is his redeeming quality

add 34 sacks stat boy ... most of which were his fault not the line . sometimes a sack is just as bad as an interception
A sack is not a turnover with no chance to punt. An interception is.

4th downs disagree... that was the basis of that argument

1) Have you heard any interviews this year? This team like JJ and rallies behind him. That means a lot in the locker room.
2) He has the ability to get out of the pocket and make a play.
3) I've given example in this thread of throws where you could see the big time play-making ability the kid has.
4) He didn't set the NCAA record for pick sixes in a year.

Jefferson never did this just to be clear.

i take a lot of the interviews with a grain of salt, albeit he could have very well progressed as a leader and i hope he does

this is true

while he does have big playmaking ability, i dont see the consisntly is his ability to put too much into this.

Good thing. The team wants JJ to succeed, its now up to him.

He has the ability, just doesn't know how to. Hasn't proven to be a pocket passer yet, does better out of the pocket.

Too few. This will have to be his biggest improvement this year, as playmaker. He was bad at this last season, which was why LSU's 3rd down efficiency was so poor.

F'kin idiots. An INT is a QB problem. A pick six is an team problem. JJ's redeeming quality was a lack of INT's. Being too safe also prevented him from being a playmaker.
He will throw more INT's this year if he improves at moving the offense.

I'm not trying to stir anything here, and I definitely think both quarterbacks will be just fine this season. We do not need a Texas Tech offense, but I'm pretty confident we will better than 112 last year.
However, why does the coach put his hands in the air on Jefferson's throws and not Lee's throws. Just a slight difference I saw between the two.
That still doesn't excuse some of the throws JJ made though.

Some people you just can't be reasonable with.
Did you watch the La. Tech game Einstein?
Considering the competition, that was BY FAR the worst our passing offense looked last year.
7 - 22, 105 yards and losing at half to the Techies. And that was without any INTS. or pick 6s.
The Bama game was a tough situation, so I don't have any issues with him for that game.
But I'll go another step, have you watched his last 7-8 starts where he has not had one solid game. Or do you have amnesia? Remember losing 31-3 to Troy before JJ punched it in the end zone?
Because the games that they play in the stadium are the ones that count. Those are what we mostly judge them by.
JJ isn't lighting the world on fire, but that was somewhat expected given the situation. People will expect more out of him this year.
However, after that Ole Miss episode, he had a good game against Arkansas and we pulled it out despite everyone saying we'd lose. He also threw for over 200 in awful conditions against Penn State where our running game averaged 1 yard per carry. So you can't blame that on him either.
The fact that he is apparently sucking in some practices is discouraging. But practice is practice. I wish I had a quarter for every time I've heard a coach say that his team had its best week of practice before a big game only to get its arse kicked on Saturday. I'd be rich. Well, I'd probably have about $5, but if you saw my bank account recently...
Practice is important. But it AIN'T the same as a GAME when EVERYTHING is on the line. You work out the kinks in practice and hope to perform how you want to in the actual games.
JJ is our QB. If he loses one early and continues to struggle, then you put in JL to see if he can provide a spark. It hasn't happened in recent performances, so there is no reason to rush him out there at the beginning of the season.
When he does get a chance, I hope he can bury his past performances. Then I'd say you have a very valid point.
