All the other SEC CB's like Lee's passes better than JJ's.

The worst pass blocking LT I have ever seen. He back peddles like a pigeon-toed elephant with an inner ear problem.

...with a serious knee problem in 2009. Don't dogpile on the guy when he obviously was badly injured.

What? I agree with you on the sacks. He took WAY too many

because he stares down his reciever for 5 minutes and wont throw the ball away when hes covered. However, this a problem that can be fixed so Im staying neutral until post WVU game.

Please stop with this shite already. You people just regurgitate the same old shite over and over again. He didn't do anything any other inexperienced QB hasn't done in football.

eta: Gotcha before the edit.

Ok, I can at least listen to BayTiger's bullshite but that statement is just ri-fricking-diculous. JJ was NEVER "laughing it up on the sidelines" after a screw up. You're toeing a dangerous line with this bullshite fwiw.

Ironically there's been multiple posts comparing JJ to Aaron Brooks on this board dating back since last season.

Also, Im not sure if it was shown on TV, but he did get into a scuffle with Terrance Toliver in the first half of the Capital One Bowl game as well.

Toliver should've had his arse chewed the frick out. He had more than a couple of drops that hit him in the fricking hands.

If anyone has uncut footage of the game it directly after either a failed 3rd down conversion or turnover on LSU's side of the field in the first half, (I THINK second quarter) of the game. I remember how pissed I was and the penn st fans next to me laughing over it.

In JJ's defense, TT's bar fight shows that maybe JJ didn't start it.

Lee isn't playing unless Jefferson goes down with an injury

This may be probable... but it's not outside the realm of possibility that Miles decides to put Lee in if we have a couple of losses.

I hope Jefferson is the starter all year, because that means we have won all of the games (and he's the starter going into the season). Realistically, it won't happen though. It's just that Miles won't replace him if we haven't lost.

quote:

You frickers better start embracing JJ as the starter our you're in for a miserable season as a fan.

Just because I can objectively acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses of QB's, which most JJ bashers/JL bashers are unable to do, does not mean I'm in for a long season (if I'm one of the frickers you're talking about).

You know... it is possible to want Jefferson to win and still acknowledge that Lee may end up being the starter this season.

It just goes to show that Pete Carroll's (sorry i had to go there) philosophy of competition really brings out the best in players.

Pete Carroll's philosophy of competition? What...of who could get paid the most? Pete Carroll jumped off that thing like a sinking ship last year after that sorry team gave up 55 to STANFORD. Les Miles already has as many BCS titles as Carroll had at USC and Miles hasn't even been at LSU as long as Carroll. And that one title that anybody even gives a $hit about is likely going to be vacated. So in the end it will be no BCS titles for Petey in the weak-a$$ Pac10. And for the cherry on top, he left them on probation for two years with no bowls and way less scholarships.

Yeah, give us some of THAT!

Actually, he was accurate about the box thing. ULL stacked the box against JJ and we couldn't do shite about it lol.

This says it all. LSU was 21-0 and had beaten ULL by a combined total of 957-22 (I believe) heading into last season's game. If LSU would have sent a QB out there who had just had his arms beaten in by Kathy Bates' character in "Misery" and ULL would have been allowed to put 22 on D, we still should have been able to run all over them with the talent difference. Our running game sucked regardless...

Are you under the impression that receivers simply fell down as soon as the caught a Lee pass in 2008?

are u trying to imply that Jefferson is Better then Lee?..

quote:

Which is it? Jefferson's passes were caught and taken for extra yards or Jefferson can't hit a moving target thereby nullifying yards after the catch?

simple dude...when he did complete it was to a still target on a 5 yard hitch...then the WR ran extra...not that difficult to comprehend dude...

quote:

But I thought all of Jefferson's 25 yard plus passes were short passes that the receivers took for extra yards?

how many did he have like 4 or 5? the sun shines on a dogs arse somedays...

quote:

Teams stacked the box much more in 2008 than they did in 2009. This is not debatable. In fact, in 2009, teams played pass protection first because of our complete lack of running game.

Yes.

But he didn't hit them in stride, right?

We just had Randy Moss clones playing receiver for LSU.

More than Flynn in 2007 and more than Lee in 2008.

The stacking the box thing has gotten to the point were it isn't debatable. We've broken down to games entirely (every single snap) and the opposing defenses (Auburn and Mississippi State) had 8 or more in the box less than 10% of the time. On the other hand, they played 5 or more DBs around 40% of the time.
