I know I did. I truly do not give a rat's arse if JJ is lights out on the road against Oregon and Alabama, because if he is dismal and cost us a game or two against Mississippi State and WVU it won't matter.

IMO, this is JJ's problem:

When the other 21 guys play poorly, JJ plays poorly.

When the other 21 guys play well, JJ sometimes plays well and sometimes plays poorly.

I cannot remember a single game in the last 2 seasons where I can honestly say that JJ did all he could to win the game but the rest of the team cost it.

Now, I temper that pessimism with this statement: In 2011, LSU will be good enough at the other 21 spots where JJ just needs to be serviceable. He will not have to "take the team on his back" this year as long as he is consistent. There is enough talent around him to win with mediocre play this year. He just has to make sure that his 2 or 3 ultra-shitty games a year come against the bottom dwellers in 2011.

I think entirely too many people on here fail to realize what PP7 meant last year. He CONSTANTLY put us into great field position. We very well could have lost to UNC's 3rd string and an Ok WV squad. Plus I think we can all agree that we were LUCKY to pull out the Tennessee win in which JJ went 3-10 with 30 yards, no touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

I agree with this. JJ isn't a superstar and never will be one. All he needs to do is provide consistency and leadership. Make the right decisions at the right time. Need to see him improve when the game is on the line.

He doesn't need to be great, just average. The talent around him is enough to carry the team.

I'm glad he's saying this. It shows he really cares and it's very personal. Some people see arogance? I don't, I see confidence.

I know he did very well against Ole Miss. My post above addresses his inconsistency.

We talk during and between games, after 3 hours on a court you can tell pretty well.

Furthermore, I cannot remember a single win where I though JJ was the main reason we won.

However, I will welcome a debate contrary to my beliefs...

You don't want this, do you? The hate is swelling in you now. Take your keyboards. Use them. JJ is unarmed. Strike him down with them. Give in to your anger. With each passing moment you make yourself more anger's servant.

Good. Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you.

Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

I think you weren't around here in Sept 2010 when that observation was made about 1000 times.

Tigerpawl what were the rushing stats in that game and the Auburn game then subtract JJ's rushing stats and see what you get. The two games where we couldn't run for shite and the D played like hot turd, we lost. You want JJ to play consistent but seems like the same can't be said for neither the running backs or the defense.

Lol you say the D wears out late in the year, what about the QB? What if it were switched and JJ carried the team through terrible D play, like he did against Ole Miss? Like he did against Miss St, Ole Miss(sans last second), Arkansas, Washington in 2009.

JJ will be good this year and lead this team to a NC,. Bandwagon bus leaves the day before LSUvsOregon. Better get on board.

PP7 was a tremendous player, but honestly our secondary is going to be fine. We have a stellar secondary.

How the frick can you run when they put 8 in the box because your QUARTERBACK is not a PASSING threat CONSISTENTLY?

Gotcha

Our special teams were fantastic last year, even besides PP7. Coverage was fantastic, blocks were great. If our ST are that good again, we can have a good return game with anyone that has decent speed and vision.

The defense bailed out the offense all season long and its pretty hard to run when the defense is completely committed to stop the run because the QB is a joke.

Ole Miss game not good enough for ya?

J. Jefferson, 13/17, 254 yds passing, 45 yds rush, 2 TDs, 299 total yds (LSU offense = 167 yds, 1 TD - without JJ)

LSU Defense allowed: 420 total yds, 21 first downs, and 36 pts.

He was SEC Offensive POW for a good reason.

I'm cheering for them both to bomb...so we can see a good ol' fashioned meltdown.
