I hate comparing anyone to Burrow but there are similarities when it comes to his 2018 year. He was not a tier 1 QB then because he only had a few months to establish himself with his receivers. After a full off-season, his chemistry with receivers was unmatched.
Burrow wasn't elite in 2018 because he was under Ensminger's offense. The 2018 offense had all the talent we had in 2019.

Only after Brady came did he unleash all that talent. It wasn't because Burrow practiced a lot with the receivers. Does that help - of course.

But the difference in unlocking all that talent in 2019 was putting them in a much better offensive scheme - which was all Brady.

You are wrong here.

Maybe so. I haven't been upset at any throw he made. It's the ones he didn't that drives me crazy. There was one play where he had all the time in the world and pump faked like 4x or more because he was just too scared to throw it. Of course I could be wrong. I'm just someone watching a game. I don't know him, nor have I ever met him. I just feel like if he wasn't seeing the reads then he would have interceptions and throws into coverages.

I agree, Nuss' problem of YOLO is much worse. I'm not in the Backup QB needs to come in camp. I think JD is our best bet and even playing check down dink and dunk football he can put together a great game. I do wish we had Bech out there catching those check downs instead of Taylor though.

But it also means that he won't throw into 50/50 coverage or will make throws that no one can catch.

Kelly jumped his arse after a terrible back shoulder attempt. He seemed to get more accurate in keeping the ball in bounds after that but he definitely isn't willing to throw the ball into tight spaces...yet.

he only had a few months with the team. He started showing signs of how good he could be in the last 3-4 games of 18

.with a running qb, it can be one of your now 3 options. (R)Hand off, throw (P), or keep it and run yourself(also R)

That’s called a triple option play not an RPO.

No it isn't.

The triple option runs differently.

we're splitting hairs just a little bit once you add in a QB that can and will take off.

RPO doesn't require a "mobile" QB

but it does add another dimension if the QB can/will keep it and run, himself.
