It's a start... But the team has to show consistency and that has lacked.

Ahh yes…the refusal to give credit accompanying the eagerness to ridicule

Ahh yes... just assuming the team is fixed after 1 good series. Dumbest fan in America

They looked good. I’ll trust a guy who is held in very high regard in baseball circles. You keep being miserable though. I’m sure you know better than Jay Johnson like others on the board. Not sure why y’all aren’t coaching in major college baseball being that you know everything

Yep lol. They miss the point every time

Amazing that since swapping Doughty and Thompson we only have 1 error and that 1 was a tough play on a hard hit ball. Bats are going to hit more than not but as we can all agree you cant have 3+ errors a game, walk a ton of people, and expect to outhit and win.

I think most would agree that he wasn't a bad hire. But the belief this team was an Omaha team after the first 2 weekends of the season was asinine. Many of us recognized that we lacked pitching, and we still lack pitching.
This team can be very good... but again, winning a weekend series is great, but you have to carry that momentum.

Hes right. It was 2 games. Its just a start. They showed improvement, but whether it sticks or not is yet to be seen. Credit goes to JJ for pushing the buttons, and credit goes to the team for responding.
It looks like it could work out, but I think most are looking forward with cautious optimism.

Exactly... because I can recognize that this team has some large holes, I know better than Jay Johnson.
I'm not even putting it all on Johnson. He just got here. I'm actually in the "he needs to be given time" group. We have some issues with pitching and errors. One good series does not change that. If he can get guys to hit the ball consistently like this weekend then it will take pressure off the pitching. We have a stout lineup when they are clicking, but a stout offense can only do so much for meh pitching and bad defense.
I will continue to watch LSU baseball, but I'm not going to just assume the problems are all fixed after 1 weekend.

How dare you not have your room booked in Omaha already

Except that it was said multiple times over the past few weeks. Stop ignoring that it happened. All we're asking for is that those knee-jerk threads stop. Give the man a chance to turn this thing around. Most of us know it won't happen in one season.

I agree. Patience to judge in both extremes would be wise

You dont consider this a knee-jerk thread? Now we're crowning him king after 1 series. There are 2 sides to that coin.
