Nanny cams are all over the internet suppliers sites like Amazon and Ebay. People have security cams in their houses and apts. All of these connect to phones and Ipads. The key for him is whether this is an incidental video capture or a "look what I got" video he opted to save for viewing later. Or if he decided to share the video with others

I have been looking at the type device he used for my office because of theft at work. You can only view the content on your phone or computer.

I suspect that everyone that has some sort of security cam and has sex in confines is not necessarily guilty of video voyeurism. However in this case I lean toward the "he did it" side...

People use these to catch theft as I said. It is one of the advertised uses. If he lives alone then that is out the door but if he lives with others as I suspect then he could be looking for who is messing with his shite. However, you missed the part where I said I suspect he is guilty. I was simply responding to the post that said there is no debatable story as to how/why he did this. There is a story but it is probably not true

Question, does that “nanny cam” automatically save videos to your iPad? I can’t imagine that every minute of every day is saved as a video on your iPad. And even if it does, if a person specifically asks you not to record them while have sex, you should probably make sure you “nanny cam” is turned off.

It doesn’t really matter if he uses it for theft. He knew it was recording and secretly recorded a woman nude without her knowledge.
