does any of this shite get old to yall? Ever?
My hope is that when the season starts, and if things go well, it will be relegated to a footnote discussion point. I'm ready for the new season. I wish both JL and JJ the best, and I think we're ready to move past that, somewhat painful, chapter in LSU football history.

even if lee played in the ncg, we still would have lost...it was more than the quarterback controversy that lost us that game
Les has a history of playing favorites, regardless of the sense it makes. Once a player gets in his doghouse... it's damn difficult for the player to get out of it. There are numerous examples of this through the years, so no need to rehash all of them, but suffice it to say, Les Miles is a fantastic recruiter and a fairly decent manager of the coaching staff, but he is a mediocre game manager, and when he gets something in his mind, as he did with JJ, all Hell would freeze over before anyone will get him to act differently. One glaring example here is Shep. We have the #1 rated athlete and dual-threat QB in the country when he was recruited out of high-school. The young man has been a beacon for LSU football, pitching LSU's charms to any and all. But he is probably the most completely under-utilized, wasted player in comparison to his athletic abilities in the entire country. How an entire offensive attack using the wildcat (at the very least to mix it up) hasn't been designed around him is almost beyond comprehension. The only thought I've come up with that makes any sense is that Les would be fearful that it might be too successful, and then cause problems running his preferred "pound the rock" offensive style. I don't know. It's just conjecture at this point. I'm just happy that Shep is coming back this year after nearly leaving after being slighted in the NC game. I wouldn't have blamed him if he had transferred. I hope Les doesn't do what he's done with Shep the last three seasons.
Anyway - congrats to JLee! The man who started and won eight straight games by double digits and saved LSU's season by playing within himself. JLee.... This Bud's for YOU!

don't think it's a great stretch to say the AL D we saw in the BCS, coached by Nick Saban, is maybe just a hair better then SD 3rd string defense.
lmao...to start with, he was playing at the end of the first quarter, and there were still guys battling for a starting position out there. After that, he saw a lot of second teamers. You are out of your mind if you think the Alabama defense was better than an ACTUAL NFL team, backup or not.

I wish the admins would whack this shite... It's so freaking played out....
let it go people! This is a new fricking year.

This is another line of thought I just don't get. Prepare for a lifetime of success with that attitude. May as well not try, huh?
this is generally what the JJ supporters say. If their guy couldn't get it done, then obviously JL couldn't. I agree 100% with you in terms of life success. I know this, LSU may not have won, but they sure as hell could not have done any worse offensively than they did by sticking with JJ the entire game. Even the most diehard never giveup lsu fans knew that JJ would not do anything after halftime.

It was nice to watch Lee's performance yesterday. Not bad for a backup college QB and an Undrafted Free Agent to perform at that level in his first preseason NFL game. If he can continue to learn and improve he might have a future in the NFL. (atleast as a backup).

I totally agree that last night was a tribute to what he did at LSU. The guy can play and with a little coaching he can contribute to the team. Awesome job keep it up.........A tiger for life.

Anyone who wasn't surprised or impressed with JL last night is a hater. I didn't expect him to make the team and have checked often to see if he had been cut. When someone posted last week that he had been impressive in practice, I was amazed. Then to see his HC give him praise about his work ethic and grasp of the game at half time was most interesting.
I wonder if the guys still doubting/bashing even watched his performance.
He may yet be cut but last night he appeared to be a prospect.
Second team quarterbacks at LSU seem to be setting a trend.
Is Rivers next?

Why? This is what people want to talk about right now, so why not let them air out their frustrations? There are wounds that haven't healed since the CG debacle and there may be some benefit to talking about it.
That said, anchors away!

im far from a jj supporter, i just think people need to back off of bashing him...he played to the best of his ability and it isnt his fault nobody took him out. im thrilled for lee to be on an nfl team but im just presenting the other side of the argument...sure his numbers looked decent but if you watched every ball he threw was off his back foot and a duck last night. he was playing against 3rd stringers who were out of position on every play. i understand lee is a rookie and has to improve with the rest of them but people are going nuts over a marginal performance last night.
people need to be happy for lee as an individual, not bring JJ or les into this...i would be willing to bet that lee wouldnt want it this way because he is a stand up guy

you left off the second part of my post...we were fricked before the game even started, it was the coaching not the qb that lost us the game

All the signs were there in the ArKansas and UGA games (and through most of his career starts), but Les was determined not to give JL or Mett any snaps

what sucks is that a lot of people predicted it, and saw it coming back in october in the kentucky game.
And that's why Miles was booed for putting JJ in there. The LSU fans and rant were right all along.

Using JJ in a supplemental role benefited the team. No issues there. Mothballing the O that was used for 8 weeks in favor of what was used the final five was just stupid (and I'm being nice about it).

great for lee. maybe he can give jj a job selling boiled peanuts to the fans during the games. i bet lee has good connections. jj is tall so all the fans can see him. just don't let him throw them someone else would catch um and not pay.
