CAN'T WE JUST DROP IT ALREADY!!!! DAMN! If there's nothing else to talk about just talk about the QB situation, huh? I get just as fed up as everyone else when Lee makes a bad decision but there is a lot more to talk about..... Like our secondary

People dont realize that stepping up from high school to college is like going from college to the pros. There is a transitional period! Did anybody see Jamarcus russell's stats today? 6 of 19 for 31yds and a pick! Nuff said!!

I agree. We've had worse records with better QB's, but JL, if he stays healthy will set records.

This is a fact that alot of fans don't seem to realize. If we lose 3 games this year we will still have had a damn good season, considering. Now I think we will beat Bama so that will be only 2 losses with a RS freshman. The future looks very good!

he the same qb that is 19 yrs old. he had to listen to a bunch of ungrateful bastards boo him in his own house last night. first year starter who has done some good things besides doing typical freshmen mistakes. you and most everyone else have no idea how hard it is to play qb at this level in this conference. give him a chance before you judge him.

I know it's hard to play QB in the SEC. I expected him to have trouble playing as a RS FR. What concerns me is that he's been regressing since the 2nd half of the Auburn game, and it's a disappointment.

That's just bullshite. He had 3 TD and 3 INT against Georgia, which is the same thing Russell had in his last game against Tennessee, when everyone called him a hero.

Stafford just threw 3 picks against UF, and I don't see many people bashing him. Heck, Snead and Stafford each have as many SEC INTs as Lee does, but with less TD passes.

Lee's not horrible, he just hesitates too much. Obviously, that can be fixed. He's light years ahead of where he was against Appy State, North Texas, or the first half of Auburn though.

I'm not speaking in terms of statistics, really, though the pick-six tally is troubling (2 of those three UGA picks were returned for TDs). It seems like he's becoming increasingly frenetic in the pocket, he's making more bad decisions and he's apparently made no progress in field vision. Hey, maybe it's just different watching the Auburn, UF and USC games on TV and watching the other games in Tiger Stadium, but I've been progressively less impressed with his performances when the opposite is expected to be the case.

You mention Stafford, but Stafford's an established three-year starter earning nationwide praise. There's quite a bit more uncertainty as to how Lee will turn out.

this is why jarett lee is playing so shitty. what i dont understand is why dont we, with a stable of solid running backs and a big offensive line just pound it up their asses all day?

we pass way too much with a quarterback thats just not ready. our defense cant stop anybody so our offense allways has to roll.

Well, I'll agree with you on that part. I just think the whole regressing theory is flat wrong. He played horribly until the 2nd half of the Auburn game, and that had more to do with the pass blocking and the Aubbie defense fearing Charles Scott than anything else. Any good QB would have done what he did against Auburn.

He played decent games on the road against SCAR and UF (both of which have great defenses), and played a little worse against Georgia, but it's not like he's among the worst starting QBs in the conference. He's still among the conference leaders, because he can make up for some of his hesitant mistakes with some really good throws.

His accuracy is a little lacking, but just look how much better it is than what Tennessee has got right now. The LSU receivers should be helping him out a little more, but they haven't been too great this year in getting open or catching difficult passes (they are still great in running after the catch).

Ease up a little. Auburn, Miss. State, South Carolina, and Florida, are all killer against the pass. Alabama, Ole Miss, and Arkansas should be a little easier.

And yeah, LSU shouldn't be such a big passing team, but the O-line sucked trying to run against Florida, and got behind in every game except for Miss. State. So a lot of Lee's miscues have come when he's trying to rally his team from a big deficit--not an easy thing to do for a freshman on the road in the SEC, or even against Georgia at home.

D-Byrd got only 1 reception vs Tulane?? the same receiver everyone was proclaiming as a solid 1st round draft early on in the season?

Doesn't he have a nagging ankle injury or something that he's trying to rest in non-SEC games? I know he didn't play most of the MSU game, and only came in late and got one reception against the Bulldogs too.

I agree with you, but the urgency on breaking the patern is overbearing. The difference in the Georgia game was 2 touchdowns. Can't afford to give Bama the momentum. Stop the Omen. Alter Lees behavior to thow Bama off what they expect.
Bama hasn't put up huge numbers; have a chance to stay in the game with them.

Watched part of the TooLame replay last night, and just as I thought at the game-several drops of catchable passes, including at least one by Byrd. The only receiver that seems to catch everything thrown his way is Dickson, and we don't know his status...

I agree with this, lafell seems to be option number 1

BYRD is an Amazing talent, we seem to either over throw or under throw to him deep

A lot of his struggles were DROPPED PASSES and getting blindsided on the paly where he threw the pick.

In all fairness, some of you need to get on the reality waggon. Reality is, Lee has a rocket of an arm but very poor decision making skills. My main issue is his regression. He has NOT gotten better and has played poorly compared to the freshman years of past QBs you cite.

No, Mauck, Russell, Flynn, et al did not play as poorly. Did they have issues? Sure, but theirs were not nearly as bad and they got better as the season progressed.

BUT, we have to be fair and spread the blame......our defense has greatly underachieved (even considering the inexperience in the secondary).

Will they be better next year? I really have doubts. We lose quite a few special lineman.

.....this Saturday is day when a program's future may be made or broken. The emotional fall out that may result from a possible Bama skull fricking us would be VERY damaging. They have not "learned" from the UF and UGA debacles and seem to have become withdrawn from detail.

What I am truly afraid of is the fans jumping their arse and the ambivolent or, worse, the angry response to the fans. When it becomes the players vs. their fans, we've all lost.

Miles needs to right this ship and I am still holding out that he will. Besides, at 6-2 we're not under water yet...........
