I wonder how he would have fared in the draft vs 07 Quarterbacks? Ryan, Flacco, and Henne are all playing pretty well.

He would have been drafted before any of those guys. And the Falcons would be terrible.

FWIW, he scored a whopping two points lower on the Wonderlic than the legendary high IQ/coach on the field/leader with moxie/possessor of intangibles/game manager Matt Flynn.

Lee got a raw deal, but it is what it is and he's ruined.
I think a transfer to C-USA etc or FCS might give him a new outlook and regain confidence.
The kid is spooked on SEC D and looks like it would take rest of eligibility to correct unless he could medical redshirt for post traumatic stress syndrome.

I believe it comes down to our OC. My fear is any QB that starts at LSU is going to look like JJ and JL as long as Crowton is coaching. I believe with a solid new OC JJ and JL both look better and play better. I really don't care who is in as long as plays are being made. Just my two cents!

He probably has the best opportunity of any of the quarterbacks on LSU's roster to succeed in the NFL.
1st, he needs to learn to throw inside the lines....

weren't they missing half of their starters, including the top 2 cornerbacks?

Probably. JJ is headed there as well. LSU attrition rate for QB's will be awful. Lee's best bet is probably to transfer.

I wouldn't doubt if LSU gets another OC that Garrett would get a shot. Hell, I don't care if Trindon plays QB as long as the chains are moving consistently.

That wouldn't be so smart IMO.
In you own type,
"LSU attrition rate for QB's will be awful"

Throw another log on the fire?

Lose the OC, get one that is a QB coach. Which is why I said if LSU gets another OC

He may be spooked...but could it be that our OC is so scared of pic 6 that HE is even more spooked.??

It seems as if all of our QBs play "not to lose" instead of "to win"..they all seem to play with an anchor attached....like all of the qualities for which they were known in HS have totally disappeared

We see what trying "to win" on the arm of green QBs produced in '08.
"Not to lose"
That Philosophy has won LSU 3 N/Cs. Game manager QBs complimenting a good rush attack. Last 2 were won with >55% run/pass.
This ain't the B12 and you don't live and die by QB play except when they're asked to do too much.
With a good run game, you just need a QB to keep the opp D honest and for you to have great D. There's no need for GC Wizardry.

It's not isolated to LSU. Do you think McElroy is some world beater? Ask OU how far you get living by the pass against the SEC.

we are not in 08 any more

there is a diff between drawing up a game plane that plays to the QBs strengths and one that plays scared...
IMO, we have been playing scared....
I do not see any signs of exploring the QBs strengths at all.....

where have all the TRAITS FOE WE WANTED THEM gone to ????

Yeah Buckwheat,no way in hell thise ints over the middle should have been returned for tds. Two bounced off receivers hands with no effort by receiver to tackle the guy. Look at the film and watch the piss poor effort by the offense to transition to defense as every guy who played hs football is taught to do.
