i still don't think lee will ever be a natural qb. he didnt play qb until his junior year in high school..
He didn't play QB AT BRENHAM until his JR year. People keep saying the same thing based on the same misquote.

Take away Shipley, and McCoy can't spell completion.

I agree. I think it was too far in both directions. They let JL loose too soon and they've kept JJ under wraps for far too long.
Hopefully from the past two seasons they've learned to bring along the QB at a reasonable pace, but don't throw him to the wolves or baby him too long.
I'm not really sure they had much of an option with Lee though. He was the most "experienced" on the roster and they didn't plan on Hatch getting hurt.

quote:also the second best defense mccoy faced this year. OU's d wasnt great by all means but was still very good.. what gave mccoy the most fits in that game was the pressure OU could get by the push from their dline... similar to nebraska.
Oklahoma disagrees. They eliminated Shipley, and McCoy had one of his worst games of the season.

When Shipley wasn't open, McCoy panicked.

quote:yes i agree, the main problem was against OU and Neb when shipley wasnt open he panicked bc he got probably 2 seconds less time he could run through his reads. IMO more to do with Shipley being his #1 progression on too many routes really affected him instead of him just freaking out. He had less time in those two games than he did in any other games this year

I believe he was handled wrong and some internal team dynamics (I'll leave it at that) on last year's team made succeeding very difficult for him. Also, I believe he was not handled w/ the kid gloves that JJ has been. But that's all water under the bridge. At this point his best opportunity would be to transfer to a good Div 1 AA program, start for 2 years and get drafted by NFL.
I agree with you and believe he should transfer.
...For his benefit.
Too many idiots at LSU do not appreciate his character and the guts he has shown in spite of the dumb coaching and manner in which he was thrown to the lions. He will be a winner.
Whether in the NFL...I do not know, but in LIFE, I will put my money on him.

This kid set records in Texas 5-A football and has draw comparisons to Brett Favre. He was dealt 2-7 off suit last year and than thrown into a hornets nest against an under rated Tech defense.

I know...and he has one helluva sweet deep, to the side lines pass..and we have not allowed him to use it.
We have only forced him to do what he was not yet ready for.....
it is a stupid shame

It Takes athief...I see why you've only posted 11 times, ...do you actually think he will go pro?...he can't go through his reads in college....some people on this board are just plain damn stupid....

Yeah, Colt McCoy is a real piece of crap. - What a ranter.
Guy's only a Heisman finalist in multiple years, and has lead his team to the national championship game.
There really is no intelligent life with some of the people on this board. . .
