Never crossed my mind he didn't make the catch until that A-hole ump said otherwise. My guess is that he was the ump behind the plate Saturday and it was sort of a make up call for that game ending stike out call.

Yeah, I was sitting on section 217 row 16 and it looked like Mitchell made the catch cleanly...I really think that Black Umpire needs to go get is eye checked, not even joking.... The guy ended the game behind the plate Saturday evening on a surely ball called Strike to give the Tigers the win but most appreciated... Also Friday he called a LSU player running to first "out" when it clearly shown the First baseman didn't have his foot on the base when he caught the ball for the out...When something like that happens too often, The SEC needs to request a mandatory "eye check" to the Umpire who has been having unfortunately missed calls...lol.

Anyways, looks like Jared Mitchell was having the goods and the bads in this series....

Yeah, it's very nice. However, much like Tiger Stadium, it seems like they shy away from showing the controversial plays.

against SEC rules is what hawthorne and hanigriff were saying about why they wern't showing the replay

Get on the field and get some experience as an umpire. You will learn more about baseball as an umpire than you ever thought you knew as a player or as a "fan."

The truth is that you do not have the cojones to go out there and do it. You would rather sit in the stands and explain what an "expert" you are and how even a child could have made that call.

Face it. If it would have cost us the game, someone would have been waiting to beat the piss out of him when he was leaving the ballpark.

the umpire obviously thought otherwise.

Same ump who did such an horrible job behind the plate on Saturday. One of the most inconsistent strikes zones I've ever witnessed.

Unfortunately, they never did show the replay on the scoreboard

The SEC would rather protect their incompetent officials than do anything about it.

Were you even there? You are in the minority and are being out voted.

I was in the third-base entranceway between the grandstand and the bleachers. I and eveyone there thought it was a catch.

BTW, the same ump called the runner out at second base on the force play to end that same inning, and it was a close play. I know umpires aren't supposed to make up for a bad call, but do you suppose....?

SEC officials suck. Nothing new there....

i was right behind the tiger dugout and i looked like a catch all the way. but ross made the runner work for luckily getting on base. how many times did he try to pick him off? it was about 5 times wasn't it.

I suggest you invest in either glasses, contacts, or better seats.

HE DID NOT TRAP THE BALL!

I was in section 121 in front of the visiting team's bull pen 6 rows up and he caught it right in front of us. It was a 100% clean catch no question about it. JM was robbed.

That was a make up call for JM's catch.

i sit in section 213 on the third base side of home plate .. had a pretty good view of it and he caught it cleanly ... the fat arse was not in a good position to make the call at all .. didn't even get his big arse out in the outfield, made the call from about 80 feet away ... and for the YMCA coaches pitch ump that posted earlier in the thread .. shut the frick up .. there's just a little more at stake in an SEC game ... the toughest decision in the YMCA games is who brings the juice boxes and who brings the chips ..

Agreed, and the umps body language indicated he was unsure about the call IMO.

that "hit" and the other questionable hit down the first baseline were the only hits olemiss got off of Ross. In my mind Ross had a no hitter through 8

I didn't have a good view of the hit down the first base line, but it appeared to be a good call. You definitely didn't get much reaction from the LSU dugout or from the crowd for that matter.
