good player, nothing special though

he made a shite ton of tackles in the title game, but hardly none were for little or no gain...most came after we picked up a few yards

He only had 18 tackles in that game, so yeah.

Although he is a good college LB and will be chosen in the draft because of potential, if you look at the replay of the game, about 8 of those 18 were "assists" and "being near the play" tackles IMO. I still would not mind having him since we could make him a REAL LB

His stats remind me of H.S. baseball players stats. If they walk, their average goes up ten points. Laryngitis tends to jump on piles, thus increasing his tackle stats.

He has the skills and awareness (and the heart for that matter) fromwhat i saw in the NCG, but i think he had to to keep the game as close as it was. LSU's O-Line controlled the line of scrimage in that game. Partly do to the talent of the O-line, but i believe moreso do to LSU 's game plan.

I don't think OSU was sure what LSU was going to run next, so everyone was caught on their heels when plays came their way. Thats where Laurinaitis excelled. He reacted in time to go toward the ball was, but there after the ball already moved about 5 yards.

From the highlights i saw over the season, put him in a situation where the rest of the D knows whats going on and he is a play maker....

To be perfectly honest no one here can give you the right answer; however, Carson Palmer on the other hand could...ask him...I hear he is an expert on all things Ohio

Laurinatis made me mad that he didn't play for LSU. The guy is all heart and plays his arse off.

Matt Flynn said he was the best defensive player he ever faced.

I am a huge Laurinatis fan. I like to see players like him.

Sounds German to me........this more-than-a-week-old hijacked thread had plenty of discussion on Laurinaitis.

That guy rocked!!!

Laurinatis just looked like a player. If Florida had him we would have been stopped on many of our 4th downs.

Hester and Laurinatis at the goal line was classic. Hester managed to twist away and lunge forward. Laurinatis played it perfectly.

I had a friend on the o-line that he told me when watching game film they found several weaknesses. I can't remember all he said but they said in certain situations he would sit back on his heels and "react" instead of forcing the issue. I also remember on a couple of plays hester running him over him and getting tackled

I'd say he is a very very good linebacker, but isn't the greatest linebacker to ever play the game. I'd give him an A-

Not near as good as the media makes him out to be.

My exact thoughts. If his old man would have been a janitor instead of some WWF guy, you would never hear anything about him.

Another poster made reference to the BCS game that he received credit for many tackles that he only assisted. I also agree with that statement as after viewing the game film again, I would have put him on the 1st team pile checker team.

Only problem with that is the tackles were 10 yards past the LOS.
