It REALLY pains me to type this, but my dear dear close friend and uncle/father figure
Ray Ray Russell passed away Friday.

He was one of the bigges reason JR came to LSU and was JR's Father Figure.

He was a well known morning show radio personality in Mobile on WBLX for year and dominated the market at #1 for all most all of that time. I know JaMarcus and I will miss him bad. This hurts very bad.....

Ray has posted here before if I'm not mistaken...or maybe it was TB?

not sure if he ever posted here, there were several posters who were accused of being him, but claimed they were just friends.

JR was the best QB in LSU history. It's a shame he needed defending.

ETA: RIP

What was his screenname? I forgot. I remember a few folk always wanting him to reveal his identity.

Met Ray Ray at Jerry's Cajun Cafe-Pensacola, Ray Ray brought JaMarcus and a younge nephew over on a Friday evening of one of our bye weeks.
You could tell right away he was JaMarcus'(and the young nephew's)keeper. Class act all the way. All of them. I'm sure he had that effect on all the family. He stayed in touch(emails and phone) throughout that season about Jamarcus and the Tigers. One of those you never forget.
Big loss for the LSU family, the Russell Family and especially JaMarcus.

That wasn't it, although I was familiar with his postings on TB. That name isn't on the memberlist on here nor is raydioman.

You can send flowers to the services. I know it will really mean alot to JR.

They had gotten the impression from most of the post here, that LSU fans hated J.R.
I always tried to tell them, that was the vocal minority, so this would be a great chance to support a former great Tiger when he actually needs it the most. He didnt have to come to LSU and Ray Ray and I helped talk him into it, so he would be so close to family in Mobile.

You can send flowers to:

His mother, Bernice Russell 611 Lesesne St, Mobile, AL 36606

or

Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, 201 N. Hamilton St., Mobile AL.

or

Word Of Life Community Church, 351 S. Craft Highway, Chickasaw, AL.

There some downright pathetic people that post on this board that claim to be fans
