Look, he made some great plays as a Tiger but he also made some god awful plays. There were games we won because of him and there were games we lost because of him, just like every other major college QB.

The point here is that most championship athletes are fiercely competitive and loyal, even to a fault. JaMarcus obviously doesn't have this characteristic and it has showed. I, as a fiercely loyal LSU fan, have supported athletes that wore the P&G that I wasn't huge fans of. JaMarcus just doesn't understand this aspect of athletics, and it is a major reason why he is out of a job now.

Can't blame him. He was treated like shite while he was in BR.

Bald faced lie. He was celebrated and fawned over. It wasn't until he started showing his true colors AFTER LSU that people started talking shite about him.

Exactly. The LSU fan love for Albert Belle was just heartwarming.

For real. There were some people who never really liked him very much at LSU, but who mostly held their tongues. Still, for a highly touted QB who led the LSU offense to dismal performances against the 3 biggest rivals in the SEC for 3 years, his popularity at LSU was remarkable. Considering his obvious lack of preparation in college, no QB in history has ever been treated so much better than deserved while at LSU than JaMarcus. Noboby.

I've never met any LSU fan who was anything other than apathetic about Belle. The guy was crazy, had some serious anger issues, got booted from the team, and it was a sad story. He might have cost LSU the 1987 CWS, but I think most people generally understand that he was just kinda nuts. Same with Cecil Collins.

I think most LSU fans are apathetic about Perrilloux too, although people have varying opinions about how the situation was handled and how it reflects on Miles.

Now Chris Jackson is somebody who I think gets a really raw deal...

This is actually a good thing for LSU. If he keeps wearing Tide paraphernalia to public outings, maybe everybody will forget that the biggest bust in the history of the NFL draft was a Tiger. Wishful thinking.

Because I remember a lot of racist threads and banned posters when he was playing.

There may have been a few assholes, but there always are. 95% of the fans were behind him, but of course he took his share of the shite when we lost a game, every LSU QB does, but I don' think that is highly unusual or something that the entire LSU fanbase should be tarred and feathered for.

There is no good reason he could have to wear the color of tuscaloser.

I'll give you a reason and I bleed purple and gold: This is the USA and we are FREE to wear what we want. Be thankful we are here.

Get over it and get over him. ALL of y'all.

If I'm not mistaken, JaMarcus and DBowe were both trashed for what they wore to an LSU bowl game. JaMarcus for wearing "Joseph's technicolor sweater" and DBowe for wearing his own jersey.

Sorry, but I have more important things to worry about than what an EX (or even a current) LSU player wears.

No he sucked for the Raiders so they've got a reason to hate him. He was great at LSU and many fans never like him.

he has no one to blame but himself for this. He always isolated himself from everyone in the LSu community from what I hear. That said, I loved him at LSU, but after wearing Bama crap....he's dead to me. I dont care if he fails or not in the NFL any more.

You obviously were no where near BR or its sports radio stations after the 2006 Florida game.

I realize commenting on things you know nothing about is some sort of compulsion for you, but don't resort to name calling.

seriously he deserved a lot of the criticism he got, as does Les Miles today. It all comes as part of the territory with playing at a big-time program like LSU.

Russell has always had problems with being likable (i.e.- he was never even mentioned as a heisman candidate, yet was the first overall pick in the draft.). Him isolating himself caused some people to not like him,..... but overall, he had as much support/love as any LSU qb in recent memory other than Mauck. Him wearing Bama crap is idiotic to say the least. Now he's even futher isolated himself from LSU, the only place he has to fall back on for serious $$$$ if his career in the NFL continues to fail. His PR agent (if he was even smart enough to get one)should be fired ASAP
