Because he connected with folks who could help him fund the program in a way CMM could not an/or would now. For all the "CMM was not funded" I'll always follow that with CMM was complicit in that. Here at LSU for men's basketball you can't just be the coach, you HAVE to be the promotor and chief fund raiser.
