Whats funny is after his freshman season (all-sec freshman) he was predicted as a 1st round pick by most future mock drafts. Everyone was like.. da fuq?

Even all last year, when he didn't play much, he was STILL mocked as a future 1st round pick. Again.. Da Fuq?

Now, after his last season, it looks like he might actually go in the 1st

He's big, fast, physical and not afraid to tackle. I thought he did a pretty good job on Amari Cooper.

There has never been any doubt about his size or athleticism...he has average coverage abilities and it would be a mistake for a team to take him in r.1 IMO

How was he advised to stay in school?

it would be an irony if chasing down melvin gordon propelled him to first round but melvin gordon himself doesnt end up in first

I bet they will be showing the highlight of him hawking down Gordon in his draft tape

There's always a run on corners at the end of the first, I think he ends up getting picked there. Teams love that size.

shite Seattle might bite. They are about to lose their #2 corner and they have no healthy guys behind Sherman(who isn't healthy right now either). Although they prefer to find late round gems for the secondary

Jalen was given letter generated by LSU saying stay in school. Not NFL! That is the fact! Potential first round draft pick isn't good enough to start at LSU ahead of 5'10 White and 160# Robinson? How can the ineptitude of Raymond and Miles be any clearer?

They showed Gordon vs Collins in the 40 yard dash. Collins had him from the start.

I think it was more of Chavis' scheme that Collins didn't play that much. White and RR were better man-coverage guys (despite RR getting burned from time to time).

Rashard Robinson is an unreal cornerback when his head is in the game

He erased Mike Evans, a top 10 NFL draft pick. Absolutely made him a non-factor, all by himself. There's a reason he played over Collins. Collins is REALLY good, but Robinson is a special talent who can't get his shite together.

The NFL has a draft advisory service that it makes available to underclassmen. Five players per each school can submit a request to be evaluated. The evaluation they gave Jalen was that he would not be a 1st rounder.

He ignored that, bet on himself and it's paying off.

I don't think he really had much to gain by coming back next year. He was probably going to get the same amount of playing time regardless, because LSU has like 19 corners that could all reliably start.

It's working out for him though.

I still don't buy it. Very few NFL GMs are stupid enough to focus exclusively on measurables. Jalen Collins' production on the field simply does not equate to a high second round pick.

He was a good corner at LSU; I was almost alone in defending him from constant criticism on the Rant two years ago; but he should be a late second round pick at best.

I'm not saying a team doesn't pick him higher, but it will be a mistake. I expect Jalen Collins to be a starter, but only an average starter, in the NFL.

There's only a handful of guys in the NFL that have above average coverage abilities. He can improve on that. It's the things you can't teach that get guys drafted so high.

I don't think you know what a "fact" actually is. The NFL's draft advisory service issued the letter to Jalen Collins.

Probably has something to do with the "fact" that both are better in coverage than him.

When LSU offered he was a two star recruit. Later bumped to a three star. Good job by coaching staff. Shon Coleman OL
For Auburn was also on that them.
