Edwards' helmet was jarred loose twice in the first half. He was lucky his head didn't go with it on a designed run that was stopped in its tracks by safeties Harry Coleman and Danny McCray. Edwards' helmet landed nearly five yards downfield after the hit.

No way he's more athletic or faster than Armanti Edwards and look what happened to him.

Edwards is 5'11, 185. Jake is 6'3, 230. I'd say that's a pretty huge difference.. Locker is the same size as linebackers, Edwards isn't. Also, if Locker isn't as fast as Edwards, he's pretty damn close.

Jake is a good QB no doubt. I see him as a much slower Matt Jones but a slightly better arm. Hell of a player though. LSU will be ready for him.

Locker scored 27 TDs as a freshman two years ago. I think he will be a very good test for our defense. We will have a chance to see how much improvement has been made.

Im not sure but hasnt lsu's defense been practicing against JJ/RS. I guess they are pretty mobile QB's.

With a new pro-style offense, he shouldn't look to run as much as last year.

It looks like Locker will be a round peg in a square offensive scheme.

Chavis will have to be ready to adjust to what he sees at game time. I expect we will try to shut down the run and make him beat us with his arm.

Locker really looks great, I look forward to seeing what he can do against our boys. On the other hand, it looks like Jake Locker vs. Jordan Jefferson, Charles Scott, Keiland Williams, Brandon LaFell, T. Toliver, Russell Shepard, Trindon Holliday, Reuben Randle and Richard Dickson (did I leave anyone out?). I like our chances in this match up.

Best way to beat a guy like Locker is not give him the ball. We will need to run the ball well. I think the weather will lend itself to running, which should be an advantage for us. If Locker is not likely to throw due to the weather, we can focus on containing him as a runner.

We also need to make sure we hold on to the football. We did not have many fumbles in 2008 and I hope we don't break that trend on Saturday.

I hope our O-line wears out UW and we get up early. My guess is that Locker will try to do too much and make mistakes. If we let UW hang around, we could be in for a long night.

Can we bring him home and use him as a WR for the rest of the year?

i love comments like this. Washington shouldn't bring anything up about last season.

You're pumping your D like it's gonna be the best thing since Harry Connick Jr - and it's only because you hired a new D staff and an average DC from Tennessee.

even with our bad season last year, we were around 30 in defense. We're consistently top 10 and have some of the best athletes in the country. We hired the best secondary coach in the country (Cooper), a NFL Dline coach (Brick Haley) and a great linebacker coach/DC (Chavis)

Gimme a break.

you went 0-12 last season

ocker's played against stellar defenses in his short career.

last season, he played against (lost all of them):
Oregon (yall scored 10 points and Locker was 12/28), BYU, OU, and Stanford according to ESPN.com. Which one of those has a stellar defense

quote:

So far, LSU is only stellar on paper.

same with Locker IMO

Tough QB. Tigers need to be on their game in a big way. Out all last year. Will be well coached by USC's old QB coach, Sarkisian
