A handful of our fans are starting to run out of reasons to btch about Coach O and need something else to keep their fancies tickled. Damn shame.

He left it all on the field and nobody knows how hard it had to be for him to have to watch from the sideline. Thank you LF7. LF7 fades to the back. Guice stand up.

You are the one claiming he can't be on the sidelines as a guest. You post the rule

That is the typical response of someone who has no facts. You started by saying he can be on the sidelines.

You need to prove it.

I think it is a slap in the fricking face to feed a guy 37 carries to break a record LF7 was held back from 2-3 times.

I'm pissed he's not playing and think there are things no-one is telling us, but....^^^THIS^^^^

Normally the rules state what you can't do, not what you can do...so

If he pays for himself to go to the game, I don't know of any rule that would not allow him to be on the sidelines as a guest.

If you know of one, by all means

I couldn't help but wonder what Leonard's thoughts were about CEO letting Guice break his single-game record like two games after he set it.

I'm not going to speak for anyone on this because I don't know. It's also worthy of note that the game was close enough to justify keeping your #1 back in the game and continue feeding him the ball until the defense forced you to stop, which they never did.

I think it would be different if the margin was 28+ points.

That said, you raise a good point and touched on something I've yet to have seen discussed on here.

If he was healthy enough to play (big if) and wanted to play with his lsu teammates one more time then a Lloyds of London policy would have been a viable option. They've covered people for one game before and deferred payment until the player is drafted. His situation is different with the injury though. It's an underrated injury that can cause significant problems if it isn't handled just right.

just opt out of the final game

It's not like he's healthy and just doesn't want to play. He has had a lingering ankle issue all year and played through it multiple times even when we were out of the playoff race. It's time for him to look out for himself instead of some meaningless bowl. The only thing I disagree with is him signing with an agent before the bowl. I don't think he can travel with the team now. He should have waited till after the bowl to sign with an agent.

Fournette has already signed with an agent. He can have nothing more to do with the team or LSU runs afoul of NCAA regs.

Only if he dresses out in uniform. No rule against him being on the sideline with a proper pass.

He gave up his amateur status when he signed an agent. To the NCAA right now he's no different than Shaq or Mathieu

A country's army couldn't keep Jamal Adams off that field.

Wrong

Every NFL Bound senior who has a solid draft position and has an injury they have been fighting all season shouldn't play in a worthless bowl game.

But hey why watch the video.

There is a big difference between buying a ticket for yourself and having the team invite you to be their guest in the sideline.

Who gets invited to the sidelines:
Celebrities and recruits.

Any team must be protective of any recruit contact while the recruit is under the auspices of that school.

Quote from DandyDon today:
quote:

• Leonard Fournette announced yesterday that he has signed with Shawn “JAY Z” Carter's Roc Nation Sports agency. Last week, Fournette announced that he was still not healthy and would not play in the upcoming Bowl Game, but said he planned to travel with the team. Now that he has signed with an agent and therefore terminated his amateur status, he will not be allowed to do so.

I wish Fournette was playing in the bowl game. The article ends by saying that L.S.U fans shouldn't be concerned because we have Derrius Guice and this last sentence blows their premise right out of the water. Why should Guice play? Why not hang it up as well? Why should he take the risks, Fournette won't. For that matter what about the other seniors who will play in the bowl game and risk a serious injury? Is loyalty measure by the size of a pro contract? Why should they take risks that Fournette won't. The questions are rhetorical.........I don't expect a response.

These questions lead to a path that will likely get very steep and slippery in the coming years!

LF made the exact correct decision,,,, its a meaningless game, and to the so called loyal fans ( well except when it doesn't go their way), have never had to risk a 20 million dollar signing bonus by falling out of the top 10 picks.

Its life grow up, if you never had a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of i understand you not getting his position.

Former players, boosters, boosters kids, boosters hookers, the paper man, the team pain pill guy, pretty much anybody they want to stand on the sidelines.

Point is is Fournette wants a sideline pass, he will get one and no rules will be broken.
