Clark will eventually get drafted on talent. But your post is extremely ridiculous and emotional. Dude gets sucked in on movement and ball fakes, doesn’t diagnose quickly, and often avoids direct contact/ blockers. He has a done of work to do.

I will give you this, he is not as bad as DJ Welter

This year doesn't count towards eligibility.

He came here on a whim

I have never met him, so I don't know if it was a whim or not.
I looked him up and he was the dominant defensive player on North Dakota State the 3 years he played there, and they also happened to win the FCS national title each year (17, 18 and 19).

He redshirted 16, and came as a grad transfer, so I don't think he initially even considered a 2nd season here. He didn't choose "any old school", which he probably could have gone anywhere, he came to the 2019 FBS Champion to show he could play at this level.

A couple things happened: Covid came and everyone gets an extra year of eligibility if they want; and although he played well, his team sucked donkey balls on defense.

I kinda wonder if that hit his pride. He might be the type of guy where losing doesn't sit well, and feels it's his responsibility to come back and lead this defense back to the top.

Yeah, hoping against hope JC comes back to go out on a better note next season.

It really could be a factor, depending on his mindset.

Like I said, 3 seasons at NDSU, lots of individual honors, 3 titles in a row.
Come to LSU, people say he's NFL-ready, but the team drops bigtime.
He might have the attitude that "no, I don't play somewhere on a half-arse team that gives up 600 yds. This wasn't me, we're going to fix that before I go. Because when I go somewhere, we WIN".

It'd be 1 more season, one less getting paid. But it might make a big impression on how much his value is, and what he gets paid.
Right now, he's a good player; he could change that to being a surefire team captain.
