Kidnap, I mean um borrow your niece and take her to the game. She will thank you when she gets older for starting this great tradition.

Geaux to the game...have a great time, cause you're going to be paying for it for the near future.

No excuses..no stories, just send your regrets and a nice reminder of how much you love her and LSU football.

By the way...good luck on that.

Buy her something purple and gold and go, she'll think more of you in the long run for being a man.

The kid will never know.
Send a present, take your sis and the kid out to something next week.

Your neice will never remember her first birthday, more or less who was there, and you will always remember the Ole Miss/LSU game from 2008.

You're welcome.

Easy fix. Honesty is priority.
If you have a relationship with the kid, tell her you have tickets to the game and you will go to the game, then you and her will go somewhere the following weekend to celebrate her b-day. She wins extra b-day celebration and you are the cool one. She'll be spacing during the party, just wondering what you'll do next weekend. If you have no relationship with her, get her a gift that looks nice and matches her age, then tell her, "Sorry hon, Aunt Alicia can't make it to the party, but you have fun though! mkay?"

I would buy her a car and drive it to the game for a test drive. Tell her she can have it when she is 17

In that case I want to challenge you to answer this question. Answer correctly and you should go to the party. Answer incorrectly and you can go to the game.

Question: Can you name every single person that was at your nieces last birthday party?

I would not even have to think twice about this issue.

I would be at the game...

In that case you have to go to the party. Everyone still has baby fever and the parents no doubt are still relishing being the talk of the family with their new addition.

Go to this one, and by next year they probably won't care if you can't make it to her 2nd. BUT if you skip her 1st and "most important" they will never forget and you will never be able to go to an LSU game on this weekend ever again.

It's classic instant gratification vs. investment in the future.
