I’ve chosen not to worry about players leaving a squad that went 8-10 in the SEC…

The last two seasons. I still can’t believe I’m typing out that conference record

This is not my attitude, I get attached to OUR players. I hate seeing them fail or move on or become unhappy.

But, your point is the only real point that needs to be understood. Our program is not in a good position, this included coaches, staff and roster. Any criticism of it is warranted. As a fanbase we must accept that it is going to be a tough next 24 months or so, new faces, new concepts new everything.

We have depth issues, so even if we could get better players, I want the current guys to stick around.

We have a new coach because our teams sucked. It is as simple as that. Bemoaning the fact that some are leaving is meaningless because if they were any good to begin with, the team would have also been good.

Regardless of record, LSU fans know talent. We know which players/positions are necessary to keep to compete next year. Not pass catchers (Smith, Johnson, Crawford) we always have enough talent there. Not OL, we can only go up from here. Returning RBs & LBs are kind of interchangable. But DL & DB very much need to stay, theyre all SEC starting caliber.

We have what, 54 scholarship players? We cant possibly build the depth and talent on a roster to compete in the next 12 months. New systems, new coordinators, new everything. You dont go from a .500 team to an elite team in one year when you are where we are at.

We are looking at starting a walk on in the Texas Bowl for Gods sake.

You blame that performance on the players? Every school in the nation wanted these players.

I never said we were going to be elite next year and I certainly expect a little bit of a learning curve. But who are you to say the year after next this team won’t be ready to roll? You don’t know shite that far in advance.

Just the overwhelming amount of data that says below average to average football teams dont become elite in a year. Now, here comes the part where you point to the outliers, but it is they are in fact the exceptions that prove the rule.

And you are the one that made this fricking post. The one where you were not worried about our starting players leaving because we suck and are 8-10 in the SEC over two years. I would assume that you understood we werent going to be balls out come this time next year.

Damn this place sets itself up to be pissed off by all the irrational bullshite they believe.

Once again never said elite, I’m just happy and if we’re a good team in the next 24 months. Elite yes might be three years away. But we can have a damn good team before that in my opinion.

uh, we had a dog shite coach, and now we have a very good one. That's why we were .500.

Coaching can make an immediate difference, especially given the talent LSU has, and will get in this recruiting class and via the transfer portal.

This isn't a rebuild.
