He also wasnt a 55 year old CAREER position coach. Dabo was also going to a program that had 1 top 20 finish since 2001 and hadnt won the acc since 91. Programs were in totally different positions.
you miss the point that none of that really matters if you have other more important qualities, which O has in abundance
are you still trying to argue that Orgeron wasn't a good hire?
Isn't it time for you to call me a "cherio" or a "synchopant" or your other "fig" saying.

well, I, and many others, could see that the program was moving in the right direction.
Ok. That wasnt true until Brady really.

I thought Ensminger did a good job with the offense in 2018 considering what he had to work with.
Holy shite. He did a horrible job. He was working with the same players as this year. If he were doing a good job and it was inexperience, we wouldnt have changed the ENTIRE offense this offseason.

Coach O was proactive in going out and filling needs on the offense with getting Burrow
I give him all the credit in the world for Brady and burrow.

Success? He lost his 2 most important games at lsu during his interim tenure.
He was 75% as interim at two programs who fired failing coaches...

You didnt know that prior to this year.
Stop acting like you did.
O had never run a successful side of the ball or program.

Using other coaches' foundations, coordinators, players, and schemes.
That doesnt qualify you to run one of the biggest programs in cfb.
Imo anyway.

Sure I did. So did many others
Lyon just don't know what you're seeing and hav to rely on the opinions of others
You wanted him fired in April 2018

LINK
we were having the same argument in 2016. What, does that link not work or something?

So what’s the most O will accomplish while he is coach?
If he hires a legit OC he has the talent to make it to the mountain top.
He is a great recruiter and great motivator.
O may very well prove to be an upgrade of post 2011 miles but he has to have the win/loss numbers to back it up.

yes and he had more success with those same foundations, coordinators, players and schemes that the HC's that put them in place were floundering with
How can you not see that is a big plus, a feather in his cap?

that post doesn't even make sense. "if he has to have the win/loss numbers to back it up" . So if he has good win/loss numbers it will show he is a good coach? great insight there rick

Anyone that is ok with the this hire is the reason we will never be able to reach Bama's level.
Or are you actually sayjng we should be happy with this hire in hopes that a 55 year old dline coach will maybe have the same success as dabo sweeney?
You really think averaging 10 win seasons is the floor for ed orgeron?
Ricky in 2016 melting down

I can't imagine being so consumed with the past when the present is this amazing. Try to enjoy the season, because these moments are rare.
1) Actually says anything complimentary to O, at least not without adding in a qualifier.
2) Actually admits that he was wrong.
He only talks in vague platitudes like what a great time this is to enjoy. That way, whenever anything goes wrong, he'll be able to jump right back on the nega-train and not have anyone be able to directly quote his pretending to temporarily be on board.

what about 2018 where the only player drafted from the offense was Moreau. Had a last minute transfer QB, freshman WR's and others with no experience. A young and inexperienced patched together OL, and a unheralded RB who hadn't hit his stride yet. By the end of the 2018 season it was easy to see that the 2019 offense was going to be something special. Or at least I and many others could see it, though probably not you
