Man..your right about that. It's my lying eyes that get me every time!

I'm not saying your eyes are lying, I'm saying you have no way of knowing what's Sloan's fault and what isn't, without being on the headset and in meetings.

And that's assuming you even have the knowledge necessary to process all of that, which is unlikely. Not a slight against you, just the reality of the situation.

The vast majority of us would have our minds blown if we had to call one drive in a major CFB game.

Gotcha and I agree. It's not as easy as people like me make it seem but sometimes random guys on a msg board do actually see and understand what is and isn't happening.

Just toss sweep the ball to Durham 10 times a game. It's not fancy but at least you get a playmaker in space. The only long run today was him bouncing one outside.

I never understood why we never really ran outside runs with him. Seems like an obvious thing he would be good at. Instead we just swing pass out it to him as a replacement basically for those.

How is a toss/sweep play just something not in our playbook much at all? It's perfectly suited for a guy like Durham who can find a hole and hit it fast.

PFF tagged Durham with 35 of his 140 attempts outside the tackles this season. He averaged 5.9 ypc on those attempts. He averaged 5.2ypc on carries between the tackles. Not a gigantic difference but was definitely slightly better running outside the tackles than between them.

Possibly.

One situation I saw quite a bit this year was Nuss make the wrong read on an RPO and the back runs for little to no gain and everyone blames Sloan for it.

Or they whine and cry about "creativity" or running outside, then everyone threw a fit when they ran a jet sweep on 4th and 1 vs Florida.

The chess match that goes on in major CFB is far above most of our heads and we're only seeing a small portion of what's actually happening, I also think coaches get far too much credit when things are good and too much blame when things are bad, but that's beside the point.

This has been my problem with the run game too. We run almost exclusively inside zone and occasionally outside zone. There’s very rarely a trap, counter, pin and pull, or anything to really change the opposing teams scheme. It’s like everyone knows what’s coming and loads up to stop it. We aren’t a very good zone blocking team so I’m not sure why we continue to hammer away with it.

Why can't we just install the 2019 playbook. Yea we have different players but there's no reason it shouldn't work.

If this were the case, every team in the country would be running the same offense.

Sloan will be the reason we don't make the playoffs next year. There's always a missing link with Kelly.

Once Ds started pressuring the middle of the line the book on LSU was out.

you mean when our LG went out in the second half of the A&M game, and carried forward. The Florida game not only had LG out but RG as well, and we know about our center. Those changes really impacted the passing game for a few games. LSU started coming together the last few games, and was particularly impressive against a good OU defense.

It was good to see those guys pulling yesterday on some run plays. That hardly ever happened with our regular OL, and if it did, it didn't work because they weren't fast enough to pull.

we continually run RPOs with a qb who basically will never pull it and run.

not sure if trolling or are serious? You do understand what RPO stands for right?
