It’s really tough to watch other teams dial up blitzes and get after the QB.

I remember when LSU used to do that. I’m ready to see an aggressive LSU defense again.

Every time LSU even tried to dial up blitzes the coverage was always blown so didn’t really matter. Just shite all around.

Maybe you should see a therapist. I bet your husband's insurance will cover it.

Exactly- we are a sit back and react instead of attack

Might give up a play here or there by attacking- but it’s better than letting a team drive down the field

Starts with having the ability to trust DBs to hold up in coverage.

If LSU had DB’s like Ohio st then we would.

that is the point of the pressure...so the DB's don't have to hold up in the pattern. The qb doesn't have time to find the receiver and any db should be able to stay with a receiver reasonably for 3 seconds...it is the next 3 seconds that the Dbs can't hold up on...even the best.
the two go hand in hand...pressure and press coverage or rush 3 and drop 8....but don't do the same thing every single play....like LSU does frequently.

Man those bend don’t break defenses rarely work. It essentially tells both your team and your opponent that you have little confidence in your defense. I understand that most coaches are infinitely smarter than me - no big fricking surprise there. However, Im a lifelong student of football, with over 50 years watching the game (usually all top 25 games), and played said sport in high school. I even have the rule book beside my viewing chair. I’m 100 percent confident that I could coordinate our Defense better than Mr. House.

Simply put, he exemplifies weakness and it is more than evident in his product put on the field. I have zero confidence that he could coordinate how to get out of Wal-Mart effectively. I bet he can’t even play checkers let alone chess.

The Mizzou game tonight showed what Defense was like.

If you consistently line the DBs 10 yards off the receivers, no blitz is going to work. The soft coverage allowed the QBs to make their quick/hot reads.

DL couple yards off the line with DBs 10-15 yards off the WRs was worse than sit back and react. It was sit back and watch.
How any coach responsible for the worst LSU defense in decades is even allowed on campus is perplexing.

Yep and those teams usually have a D-line coach this isn’t hospitalized with a stroke. It doesn’t help much to send extra rushers if your core isn’t getting penetration.
