It's his fault, but I do agree that the NFL has seriously bad situations that top picks get put in.

What if Steve Young never got out of Tampa Bay? Look at all those poor kids that got drafted by the Bengals?

TexasTiger1228 It's not JaMarcus Russell's fault Come on - he is a 24 year old milti-millionaire. He wll go back to Alabama and get a quad wide mobile home, listen to rap-country music, and jump every babe that walks or crawls. You think he cares about any of this crap?

He will when the money runs out. I believe Las Vegas already has a substantial chunk of it.

We will hear of JR again in the future, a story of either "Former LSU Star Goes Bad..." or "Former LSU Star Broke and Homeless...". The first type of article will be how JR got into running drugs or prostitutes or something illegal and unsavory. The second type of article will be about how someone found JR in a homeless shelter blah-blah-blah.

I wish people would get bashing him as the biggest bust in the NFL. Maybe he wouldnt be a bust if he wouldve had REAL coaches behind him and REAL players supporting him. The Oakland Raiders are a joke and if im JaMarcus im glad to be out of there.

I wouldn't say the biggest...IMO that is still Tony Mandarich or Ryan Leif but he's up there...

he did...but showing up to camp the size of a lineman and falling asleep in team meetings and ADMITTING he didn't give it his all is not going to win the support of your teammates and have them looking to you as their leader and giving their best to you when you are not giving your best to them...its a 2 way street...

JR+Raiders was just a perfect storm to create a loser NFL qb. Look at the guys who are succeeding now. Not the big rocket arm guys, but guys like Drew Brees and to a much lesser degree, Orton from Chicago. Smart dedicated qbs that have just enough tools. That being said, the sport science piece on Brees was insane.
