Let's agree the Raiders have a lot of problems.

But does anyone think JR actually showed up every day, fully committed to being the best player he could be? Anyone?

Let's pretend that he did. Then he clearly isn't NFL talent.

And if he does have the talent and didn't do his best, then he doesn't belong in the NFL.

The point is that regardless of the Raiders situation, JR doesn't belong in the NFL. Either he isn't talented enough or doesn't care enough. Oh I suppose there are some here who think JR needs to be given excuses and get-out-of-jail cards. The same folks no doubt believe in social promotion and that teachers are responsible for how well their kids do in school.

Jamarcus was never that good at LSU and i was shocked when he went Number 1. Had the physical gifts that everyone looked for but the mental capability of a 7th grader. He used that physical capability to get LSU out of many jams but that mental capability put LSU in most of those jams. Not suprised to see him fail when all the players are top notch and raw ability doesn't get you by anymore. He was always lazy at LSU and carried that over to the NFL and once that contract was finalized so was what little work ethic he had left. Most successful NFL Qb's had really good success stat wise at the college level that is against good competition. I think Jamarcus padded that stat against cream puffs but against great teams he was not very good. I wish him well but the bust was there all along. He would have failed with any NFL team and to blame it on the raiders for letting him down is a lie. Jamarcus let the raiders down with his attitude and his drive to do nothing but spend their money

The Raiders are a joke..

However..I don't think you are looking at the specific areas of responsibilites that are on JR.

His Veteran teamates have come out and said he is lazy and not a leader, thus the reason he was cut.

You could say that if he had any kind of work ethics and showed up ready and in shape. But you can't because to this point he has been nothing but lazy.

It's JR's fault for not preparing, and showing up out of shape. It's the Raiders' fault for not dealing with it like Parcells did with Skyler Greene. They should have jacked him up and drew the line in the sand, but the Raiders are as they have almost always been, undisciplined.

They already sucked. They expected JR to come in and just fix everything. Too much to ask from a young, talented guy that still has a lot to learn. If they offered me 40mill to do what I'm not prepared to do, I'd take the money and do what I knew to do. He'll play for someone else eventually, but being a success or a Super Bowl QB is a long shot for any player. I wish him well.

That is a fantastic mindset. I'm sure you will no doubt achieve greatness one day.

I blame it on Katrina.
Jimbo Fisher.
Lane Kiffen
Al Davis

Poor guy never had a chance with all the hate.

I think JR is smiling as you guys continue to focus on him. It appears JR orchestrated a "Sting" equal to Butch and Sundance. He was smart enough to pull off the Sting and fooled everyone into believeing that he is a victim.
Good one JR.
Forty million and Ranters are feeling sorry for the guy.

You're right about one thing. It's not JRs fault the raiders drafted a lazy QB with the #1 pick and gave him a superstar contract. That's on Al Davis. It is his fault for being lazy and unpopular with his teammates.

But completing a few pasesses, showing up for meetings, keepig his weight down, and actually giving a great effort is expected of a #1 pick.

Yeah, the Raiders just gave him the message to do as he pleases. In fact, they paid him more to perform poorly.

You guys are amazing.

NO!! He was more talented then most in college. In the pros everyone is at that talent level, so if you are lazy you fall to the bottom of the pack.

He blew off meeting with Manning and Brady. Seems stupid and lazy to me.

And I am a big fan of JR.

Come on - he is a 24 year old milti-millionaire. He wll go back to Alabama and get a quad wide mobile home, listen to rap-country music, and jump every babe that walks or crawls. You think he cares about any of this crap?
