Flau'jae's making $1.5M in NIL this year. Why would she (and players like her) want to leave early?!?

Isn’t the WNBA basically subsidized by the NBA?

it's still a hard league to make until they expand # of teams
The WNBA is expanding by two teams this year:

Toronto Tempo

Portland Fire

Not anymore. Their profits triggered a revenue share from this past year that sent bonus checks to each team and the players.

A player like JuJu Watkins would be one that would come to mind
She might make enough NIL to delay it but if you want to play against the best go for it

That's just not true. Big 4 is making more than 1.4.

Women’s basketball is not a revenue maker

It’s embarrassing to watch honestly

I don't know much about WNBA salaries other than 98% of them make less than kindergarten janitors

kindergarten janitors are way more important to society

Well at least they win, look how much McCantWin is costing, without the TV deal. The SEC has a good contract and we’re the UMass/football of the SEC.

All I know is we better not up our NIL due to this. Womens basketball loses a ton of money and we have many other areas that these funds could go to.
if they need NIL money just take from the men’s basketball team. We could run a YMCA team out there for nothing and do just as good

Congrats to WNBA.

This new agreement will put them out business unless corporations get guilted into footing the bill OR some network gives them a stupid TV deal.
