Just flipped over from Auburn v UK. Atmosphere doesn’t even come close. They have students almost right on the court going nuts the whole game. We have old people sitting down and talking on their cell phones.

I know USCe ain’t UK, but come on.

Watched a few other games today, their crowds were raucous and loud.

Watching LSU, it's like watching a WNBA game with how quiet this crowd is.

Two alley oop dunks so far and still very little noise.

I haven't been to an LSU game in a long time since I don't live in Louisiana. I've always wonder what the pre-game is like these days, is LSU doing anything any particular to get the crowd engage, do we have a pre-game/in-game ritual to get the crowd involved (a la calling baton rouge, jon bon jovi in the 4th quarter, etc.).

I know people dis on these type of things being cheesy, "too much of man" (highlighted by recent dis on pom poms), but even though I haven't been, I have to imagine there could be a lot of improvement to game day experience.

I go to the VCU games on occasion: Siegel center is a smaller arena (7700 people), it's been sold out for the last several seasons so it's always packed and usually loud due to the smaller size. But they do other things, there's pregame rituals, there's stupid things like: oversize photo heads they hand out to the crowds on the end courts, toss t-shirts throughout the game. But it works, the crowd gets into it and it makes for a fun atmosphere. Doesn't hurt that they just started selling beer in the arena this year.

Sounds like we need to bring some traditions back (like the tiger dropping from the ceiling), or maybe the LSU marketing department can come with some ideas to bring fans back. It’s a great venue.

Every time we are in town, we make it to the games. We’ve had season tickets since 1977.
