It’s disappointing. O, choose wisely.

This is a one time selection. If it fails, so goes O.

I really hope he guesses correctly

Unfortunately I don’t trust it. He went out on a limb and tried to get the splashy guy and failed. Sadly I think he’ll jump his coffin with this hire. Hope like hell I’m wrong though!

Love ya Charles but I have to disagree. Pelini was Woodward's idea, not Orgeron's. So that is not on Ed. The DC hire will not be Orgeron's sole decision but will be a committee hire. Woodward, BOS, TAF, rich boosters as well as staff. The DC has to be compatible with current staff and Oregeron will have a big part in the decision, but the resposibility will be collective.

We'll be all right. We've got great talent and the kids that stayed are focused. We just need to give them leadership and then get out of the way.

LSU getting fleeced by coaches for more cash at their desired destination is not an Ed Orgeron phenomenon. You can dislike Orgeron and be honest at the same time. I’ve never seen a university with LSU’s stature get the shaft in the short timeframe LSU has with desired coaches.

Do y’all really not believe there are numerous Defensive minded coaches in college and the nfl that aren’t wanting the job?

We’ll be fine.

How in the world you come up with “We’ll be alright” from all that info is beyond me.

Our head coach was told who his DC would be. The hire was a historical bust.
Our head coach will again be told who the next hire will be.....by people who botched the last hire.

We’re so in the crapper.

No doubt. However, we can't underestimate the outside factors. Would you rather raise your children in South bend, or baton rouge?

keep in mind that Louisiana is one of the least desirable places for outsiders who don't have any experience with it. If you didn't know anything about the people or the culture, what makes this A place you'd want to be?

Freeman will more than likely turn out to be Herman

Success at a smaller school vs that level of competition with mediocre results vs the big boys

Offense owns defense now w spread, RPO, and the best athletes wanting to be on that side of the ball

This is not Saban-like SEC FB anymore. His defense rt now, undefeated, has given up over 40 pts more than once to teams that have lost 3 games or more. AL’s DC will only be a commodity b/c he’s from the Saban tree.

Freeman openly saying he wants to be a HC should have eliminated him from our search, but we wanted the momentum of the hire perception-wise and it backfired

I feel like at this point, Steele would be the safe play for best results, but won’t be considered due to the need for change (he’s older and already worked here), that ultimately will be needed, but at the HC position

My point is losing Freeman is an unanswered prayer as far as results on the field

Seriously frick fans like you. We won a national title last year, lost a record amount of players, draft picks and first rounders. Now your melting over a DC hire

No. We’re concerned because our head coach hasn’t made a solid coordinator hire since he’s been here. None. Zero. Zip. And our AD doesn’t even trust him to do it alone.

Uhh ...gimmie a sec... I’ll go with Baton Rouge. And it wasn’t a hard decision. No place like home.
