The premise of the original post is ridiculous.

No way Bama is 8-0 then.

I'll be expecting Verne to unretire for one more "Game of the Century" call.

While praying for an asteroid if he actually does unretire...

I mean, this is all a fantasy Amirite?

If we are ranked #5 at 8-0 with a Heisman candidate, we have been set-up.

With that record and our schedule (Miami, @Auburn, Georgia, @Florida, Miss State), we would be #1.

Regardless, I would take Thursday and Friday before the game...and prepare myself to be the extra Super fan on Saturday.

We both have been around long enough to know that we will never be ranked ahead of a same record Bama until we beat them.

2011 - #1 LSU vs # 2 Alabama

It would be 1 vs 2 considering Bama is likely starting off #1 and that LSU would’ve had to beat Miami, Auburn, Florida and Georgia to get to 8-0. Whether LSU could leap ahead of Bama would depend on how convincingly they won those games, especially UGA.

If we're 8-0, that means we beat Auburn in Auburn and the defending SEC champs. The pants will already be off at that point.

I'd probably feel like I was living in some sort of parallel universe based on the preseason expectations. I'd be as excited as heck.

Being at this game and having to watch it with my own two eyes, live in person, was crushing.

And he was right. That play haunted mills for years. If he covers the flat game over. AJ can’t make the throw to anyone else. No time..
