Don't forget that we played 5 games against Bama with two special needs QBs. It's amazing that Saban is supposed to be the best coach ever, but last time they played in Tiger Stadium he got completely undressed by Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee.
How dare you bring up something bad towards Saban!!!
Thank you

They don't remember wins. They remember losses and take it as an advantage to criticize Miles.

In 2007, the offense had the most rushing attempts for a season than any other in the Miles era. Even more than last year. (2007-612 rushing attempts, 2011-591 rushing attempts)
Good point, but something else needs to be mentioned here, as well. First off, 07 was the last season before the new clock rules were put in place. Games now have fewer total plays as a result. Second, partially due to poor QB play and lack of balance, our offense struggled to maintain possession of the ball, especially in 2009 and 10. The percentage is what was out of balance in those years, not the total number of plays.
However, you are correct that, even though we could throw the ball very effectively in 07, we were still a balanced offense.

It's a Les Miles offense.
500+ yds...72 plays...26 1st downs...7.1 yds gained per play...10.1 yds gained per completion...73% completion rate
A top 30 total offense ranking for the 1st time in like 4+ yrs.

We have some of the most unsophisticated, butt fricking stupid fans in all of college football.
Anyone want to try to argue this point?

I think this comment by Missouri's Coach Pinkel:
"That doesn't mean Missouri kept plays under wraps against last night's opponent.
"People that save things, a lot of times they save it for the next coach," Pinkel joked. "I'm not a big saver."

You mean to tell there isn't a secret playbook?
he's lyin' man. i know there's a secret playbook. crowton stole it but krag has put together another one; not as large as crowtons but at least it's not full of second guesses and mass player substitutions.

I think that we should take a few shots down the middle to soften up the run defense. I don't think it means you have to air it out every play. Our O does work, we were 13-1 last year. It is just that 1 L that keeps sticking in everyone's minds and how a different gameplan may have resulted in a different result. (Or even halftime adjustments).

It baffles my mind that all of you want to take the ball out of Blue and Hilliard's hands.

Thats the problem with LSU for the last couple of years. We seem to play down to our competition.

The Crowton playbook featured innovative ways of getting Trindon the ball and included RS throwing. Or so I've heard.

oh wait hold up ya'll, my bad......i did see ONE fade complete and ONE streak INCOMPLETE......not to the EZ though
still does not change what i said earlier though.
I also did not see any in or out routes.
If we were working mainly on short stuff where were the hitches?

In college football playing great defense and having a solid running game wins a lot of games. Bama does it too. Hell when the Saints run the ball well it makes them unbeatable. I am convinced the threat of Mett throwing down the field and completing a few passes here and there kept the running game open. Problem is North Texas ain't the SEC. No more penalties, protection problems, and cut out the bad interceptions.
Couldn't have said it better. I wasn't looking for Mett to light it up, I'm more concerned with him having command of the offense; Can he read and recognized a defense at the line? I believe this team as a whole needs to pay closer attention to detail. I believe where we just flat out got whipped in the NC game is our offensive line. I'm still concerned with our O-line performing on a championship level this year. Not to look past the rest of the schedule, but if our O-line could force Bama out of their cover 2 shell, The Tide will be in some serious trouble.
