It makes no sense to drop Texas but add Vandy and Mizzou

I’m sure others are disappointed too but I thought the purpose of dropping games is due to Covid. So does it really matter now to drop a non conference and then add Missouri? LSU will lose millions making this move. This is stupid!

Conference Leadership has better control over league standards vs other conference standards. Think out side of the Geography Box

1.) this isn’t LSUs move

2.) LSU will lose millions regardless

It does if you’re the SEC and you want to control the conference and remove as much uncertainty as possible. The SEC is doing exactly what they need to do to insure that the season happens. I am in total agreement. It would be nice to add other variables, but then the SEC loses control and more risks are introduced into the situation. Can’t complain !

Is there something I missed? This makes no sense when the changes made are due to Covid. This reformat defeats the purpose. If we keep Texas on the schedule it probably ends up being one of the biggest revenue weekends of the season.

With how many fans? It was smart to hold off on this game. When it is played, you want a full house and a bunch of Texans to come over and enjoy gameday festivities. It’ll be a nice weekend for hotels and businesses.

No, having to pay millions in guarantees to four non conference teams to come to Tiger Stadium with limited or no capacity would have cost much more.

The change wasn't done for safety it was done to save money.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is every single one of your threads.

It's beautiful, 2 cupcakes. Plus, LSU comes back to Nashville.

There is no reason to believe Texas manages the virus worse than LSU

We get the same amount from the SECTV package whether we play Texas or whether we play Mizzou. We'd probably have the same number of fans at either game as well.

Revenue from what? You think there's going to be fans?

It’s not a decision made in a bubble. There’s 2 entire conferences to work these decisions through

Texas isn't allowed to travel to their one OOC game.

So, just wanna put this out there for you but, the SEC is basically the last Power 5 conference to make scheduling decisions affected by Covid. When all of the other conferences have cancelled their OOC games, you’re left holding the same bag as you very one else. That was the only option for the conference so that’s what they did.
