Jefferson v. Alabama
2009 - 10/17 114 yards 1 TD, 6 carries 32 yards (left in 3rd Q w/injury)
2010 - 10/13 141 yards 1 TD, 7 carries 27 yards
2011 - 6/10 67 yards, 0 TD, 11 carries 43 yards

Lee v. Alabama
2008 - 13/31 181 yards 4 INT 1 TD
2009 - 4/10 44 yards 1 INT
2010 - 4/7 67 yards
2011 - 3/7 24 yards 2 INT

Which QB would YOU play???

Who was the QB that led LSU to the go ahead TD?

Charles Scott. With the way Lee was playing in the 4th Q, we don't even sniff a FG without his 34 yard run.

So Lee single-handedly threw away the Alabama game in 2008 with his 4 interceptions.
Stalled an offense that had been moving effectively in 2009.
Preserved the win that Jefferson had earned by completing one pass in 2010.
And got yanked before he could repeat his 2008 performance in 2011.

Lee played #3 Oregon, #25 Mississippi, #16 West Virginia, #17 Florida, #19 Florida, and #2 Alabama. Thats 6 ranked teams, not 4

Mississippi STATE finished the year 7-6 (2-6) and unranked.
Florida finished the year 7-6 (3-5) and unranked.

#1 Alabama finished 12-1
#5 Oregon finished 12-2
#23 West Virginia finished 10-3
#25 Auburn finished 8-5

That's 4… and WVU and Auburn barely qualify.

Yes. I'd take Jarrett Lee any of his seasons in this offense over Jennings. No fricking doubt about it.

No doubt about it. I would have loved to see Lee get coached by Cam.

And this is why every poster should ignore all of your posts

UGA finished #16 (10-3) in the final BCS, meaning they barely qualify, too. Yet you act like they were some awesome juggernaut that held JJ to 30 yards passing

You just blew your entire defense of JJ with this Rant

It was 10-7 at half

It was 21-10 four minutes into the third quarter. Stop acting like being behind 10-7 at the half was some kind of big deal.

Was it a big deal to you that we only had six points at half against Mississippi State? Were you calling for Lee to be pulled? Was it a big deal that Lee had 45 yards passing in the first half against Oregon and was completing like 35% of his passes? Were you calling for Lee to be pulled?

We won 42-10 and that's really the only thing that matters. The rest of this is sour grapes BS because another QB didn't get to play is childish but par for the course for those who refuse to move on.

They were both a pile of hot garbage and I'm glad they're both gone. Let's hope and pray that one of the guys we have now can make some marked improvement from last season.

So in 2011, his best year as a Tiger, he wouldn't have contributed?

That's correct. Lee's nerve failed him. Against Bama's rush, Lee QUIT! That's the dirty little secret. After getting hit by that LB, on the delayed middle blitz, Lee had one thing on his mind - get rid of the ball quickly, and don't get hit. You just can't play a guy like that; every other player would quit also.

Damn, but some of you guys need a good kick in the balls!

JL showed a lot of backbone remaining at LSU when he could have easily turned tail and run when things got bad for him at LSU. When JJ had his run in with the foolish DA, LSU was damn lucky JL was still here.

JJ had his ups and downs both on the field and off, but the guy never showed any fear and always competed.

The way some of us eat our own after they sign to play here is a pretty sickening sight to see. imo

the issue is we should not expect freshman to play. So Brandon not playing very much last year should not be a surprise Or an issue !

We don't know it for sure, but there is absolutely nothing about Lee career vs Alabama that indicates he would have had any success.

well I get that, and lee had been terrible against bama... but there's literally no way anyone knows what would have happened. I think at the point LSU was at with JJ in that game, lee should have been given a shot. if he messed up, put in mett. just don't quit. that's what the most disappointing thing was.

but to get back to the OP, there hasn't been a true freshman that has started a game since jefferson against georgia tech back in 2008. and the only reason he was starting was that lee had injured his ankle. lee was healed up (according to the coaches) for that GT game, but jefferson took the bowl practices with the 1s and never lost the spot again for the next three years except for being suspended.

In 1992, Jamie Howard was named the starter as a true freshman.

Before that,

In 1976, Steve Ensminger (yes, that one) was named the starter as a true freshman.

That's as far back as I care to go. 3 quarterbacks in 40 years.

No, No they weren't. You are such a congenital liar. Do you not realize that in the information age, your bullshite can be verified in a couple of clicks?

LINK

Fla was ranked higher than UGA in passing, but since you've already discounted them, your praise of UGA for holding JJ to 30 yards is absolutely pathetic. Lee was 7/10 (70%) 154 yds 1TD 232.36 rating against the #7 passing defense in the nation

You really should just stop posting. You're in over your head at this point

Georgia was Top 5 in passing efficiency, yards per attempt, completion% and interceptions.
