Another question; How did it work out for those three teams?

Duke - Worked just fine, she made team, then coach cut her based on gender and made several statements indicating gender discrimination. Ultimately a lawsuit ensued, Mercer v. Duke University, and she won.

Jacksonville St - Worked fine, she kicked an extra point, all hell not broken loose at last check.

New Mexico - Worked just fine, scored an extra point, she graduated.

Colorado - Did not work well at all. Allegations of sexual abuse. Gary Barnett said some fairly stupid things, which he was prone to do.

So, essentially it worked ok in two of the cases. It worked fine at Duke until the second year she was on the team (this was also 15+ years ago and she was the first female kicker). It absolutely did not work at Colorado, but there were a lot of issues at Colorado during Gary Barnett's tenure that were less than desirable.

It could work here, it could not. But I think Les did the right thing by giving it a shot in the spring and letting her continue to work with the team through the fall.

The other day when I said she was becoming as annoying as JJ, I was sorta kidding.

Now I'm not.
Les should tell her what's up.

Some of you people are obviously her female soccer teammates. At least I hope to god so.

LM is a man that learns from his mistakes.

I take comfort in that.

Translation:

Duke - She was a prima donna and distraction so the coach got rid of her.

Jacksonville State - What a great way to burn a scholarship.

New Mexico - See Jacksonville State.

Colorado - Allegations of sexual abuse? I'm shocked. Sort of like allegations of racism. Make the accusation, watch everyone dive for cover and let them prove their innocence.

I'm going to let it go at this point. But as my last word cannot you realize what is happening? Mo Isom would be strychnine for the LSU football team. Nothing good could come of this other than allowing a bunch of girly men to feel good about their open-mindedness. It is time for them to grow a set and grow up.

Probably for the best. Agree to disagree.

Maybe she can try out to play quarterback, this way she doesn't have to make a tackle.

What top college football team needs a woman at any position? If LSU or any other program needed a female at any position what would that say about the state of the football program? Miles tried to be as politically correct about this as possible. Mo never had a chance and never will. She knows it deep down as well. She got her publicity now it's time to move on.

I don't see how Meaux not making the team is win/win. W/ her on the team, we would get more media attention than any other team. I wouldn't be surprised to see all of our games in 2012 televised if for no other reason than to see the Homecoming Queen tack on an extra point. Just think how many more millions that would be for the University.

If you are a scholarship athlete for a non football team, you cannot "walk on" the football team. Your scholarship would count against the total for football. It keeps the football team from loading up other sports like soccer for kickers and track for lineman/receivers. If she made the team, she would be taking away someone's scholarship.

Her soccer scholarship was up. She could have been a walk on. She had already played 4 years of soccer.

I'm not sure of her standing, but she would have to be broken free from the soccer program. If she is tied in with them as far as grad assistant, or receiving compensation, then it's much more than just a tryout. If she is completely eligible, then she just wasn't good enough.

She'll be back for fall camp. Other than possibly
(and this is a stretch) screwing up team chemistry in the locker room, if she's good enough (her kicking according to Miles is OK, tackling is not) she'll make the team in August.

I see a few on here saying "Nothing good can come
from this" but I am not sure why. What exactly do you fear from Mo making the team?

A chick accomplishing something they would never be able to do? A lot of insecurity seems to have come out in this thread. It's a shame people can't just be proud of someone who's always represented LSU with class.
