4.45 and 4.52 is very little difference. You likely wouldnt even be able to tell with the naked eye unless they ran side by side. 4.52 is REAL SPEED.

Exaclty. I think a 4.52 college guy could probably get to 4.45 if he spent time trying to lower his start time and perfected when he stood up and ran.

Once again, nobody said speed equates to greatness. Nobody stated that you had to be fast to make it. If you go back historically, there are lots of 4.4 or faster 40 times but most of them don't make it in the league. So the studs that do, we only see their times posted most often. The reality is this discussion went from one thing about him being a good punt return option and him not being the fastest on the team.... To some here thinking he is being put down because a couple people sad he wasn't fast. What are we arguing about?

Jarvis Landry is no where near fast, and we would all agree. But he is a STUD! Yet he ran a 4.51 at his LSU proday. Think about that.

No one ever said he wasn't fast. . Speed just wasn't his best attribute. His hands were. If Landry ran a 4.51 he is fast as hell.
ETA- LANDRY DIDN'T RUN A 4.51.
Lester showed he ran a 4.7

AGAIN all of 2 cbs, in the 2015 nfl combine,ran under a 4.44. a 4.51 is flying

Landry isnt very fast for a WR. he ran a 4.77 at the combine and a 4.61 at his pro day.

You know Coach Sid Edwards?? He is probably retired by now. He coached Warrick Dunn in High School. He would always say how fast Dunn was and that you can't teach that. I would assume he is recognized as 1 in the top tier of Louisiana High School Coaches.

I agree...TJ wouldn't have been rated as one of the best WR's coming out of HS if he was slow. Compared to Jackson, I'd expect most players in college football would be significantly behind him in a 40 yd race. His 4.24 was probably closer to a 4.34 under combine standards. If we accept the same fudge factor on all numbers, I'd expect that TJ is in the 4.6x range. I believe that the GOAT WR had ~4.6 speed but he had great hands and knew how to create space.

Have you missed me repeatedly saying,"IF HE RUNS A LEGIT 4.52 "?
I've never once said his 4.52 is legit or electronically timed. I've only said an electronically timed 4.52 is fast as hell and nfl combine times prove it. You do know it's rare for nfl players to run sub 4.4's right? Which is why you hear about players that run sub 4.4 at the combine. We all know college and HS 40 times are inflates 99% of the time, which is why I repeatedly said ,"if his time is legit".

Right. If he had run a 4.51 at the combine, no one would say he wasnt fast.

and a 4.61 can be fast, but for Landry's size, it's not very fast.

The point was a these times can all be fabricated. Go look at any LSU article for that pro day. Jarvis ran an ELECTRONIC 4.77 then ran a 4.51 here. So the question is do you think Jarvis is faster then TJ or can hand times be off. Cause TJ ran his 40 under them same circumstances as Jarvis.... a hand watch and not Indy.

Full disclosure, I don't think all Indy times are legit. I think they can also hurt kids and give slower times.

No shite. But that doesn't change the fact that you said a 4.52 isn't fast. Yes it is. If you were implying that you didn't believe his 40 time was legit, then say that because it's crazy to say a 4.52 isn't fast.

Jarvis ran a 4.61 at lsu's pro day. Not 4.51

I think all we are saying is that a legit 4.52 40 time is fast. We aren't commenting on how legit 40 times are for cfb players.

I want to see Guice, Donte Jackson, and LF7 returning kicks this year. I think that would be exciting. Idk how I feel about Tredavious White returning. All I was trying to say to you/everyone is 4.5 is fast enough to play SEC college ball. That is why I mentioned Mo Claiborne. Because he was a stud here and was not near as fast as people think/thought.

I do. I didn't go to Catholic but I grew up with he and Kevin. Warrick ran a 10.3-10.4 hundred and Kevin ran in the 10.25 area. For those who remember football in 1990-94 would remember this. I went to Tara then graduated from Central. Tellius Carr and Juston Foster(my cousin) who both went to Glen Oaks were both 10.6 guys and Donell Baker from Baker high, who went to Tulane as a WR was also a 10.3 sprinter. So I've played with and against FOOTBALL PLAYERS with great speed. So my perspective may be a little different from most of you.

I think this whole conversation or argument is based on your perspective. It's like people who make 25k a year think making 50-60k is rich. While someone actually making 50-60k says they make decent money.

Its all about perspective. If you have seen speed, just saying fast is a lot harder then those who have not.
