Is State better than CMU?

Probably...we can't lose this game. O is a goner if he does. State isn't good.

The shark fricker called a horrible game last night. The Pirate will be way more prepared.

Their WRs are better, but they don’t have a RB, TE, or O Line as good as UCLA. Their defense is much better overall. UCLA didn’t beat us with talent on defense. Our O Line and QB just couldn’t handle the blitzing.

Go back and watch the State-Memphis game. Rogers looks like a more consistent version of Max. He’s good on short to intermediate routes, but doesn’t have the best deep ball. He just kind of heaved it up in the game yesterday. If you get pressure on him, he doesn’t always know what to do or react quickly. He made a couple of mistakes trying to decide when to run or throw under pressure yesterday.

Our best option is to just play a Dime defense if Ward is back and dare Leach to run the football, because he won’t do it enough. If we only have one LB with more limited responsibility in the game and Burns is off the field in favor of Ward, that should limit the coverage mistakes.

Play a lot of short zone to take away what Rogers likes and and make him be perfect. He was far from it in the 2nd half of the Memphis game. If a 4 or 5 man rush can get to him, their offense breaks down.

bullshite. You obviously didn’t watch the game. Leach turned down an easy FG to extend the lead in the 3rd. They turned the ball over on downs at the 2 and Memphis drove 98 yards to take a 3 point lead and ALL of the momentum. Even if Memphis just gets the ball inside the 10 after that kick, MSU was on their heels and had just given up a long TD drive. The game was trending in Memphis’ favor at that point. Not scoring a freebie TD doesn’t change that.

Leach allowed the refs to play a part in the game because he fricked it all up. State wasn’t aggressive in the fist half when they were dominating and only scored 17 points. A stupid mistake by their offense handed Memphis a free 7 and kept them in the game early. Then he passed on easy points on the road that would have kept the momentum on their side. They blew it on that play. Leach is the reason State lost, period.

They have a better defense than CMU. They have a very predictable offense.
