Saban is hanging it up because he finally reached his career coaching goal.

I didn't know Saban stopped him from speaking to the players. That says a lot right there. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out because Cochran was the second most popular person on the staff next to Saban. The good news is Smart can't win big games (I don't count winning the East a big accomplishment) so adding Cochran as special team coordinator shouldn't change anything in the overall big picture!

Would you not consider the SECCG he won a “big game?” Or how about the CFP semi-Final? Also not a “big game?”
