I watched him this year and the few times he did get the ball he seemed ok but i think we have someone who would be better than him. Why is miles set on brooks back there or is he.

What about Ford? Did he return kicks in high school? Miles had Keiland out there for a lot of his career, so he's obviously not opposed to having RBs to it.

Who did you have in mind? Keep in mind, ball security is the #1 pre-requisite for the job.

mike ford is going to be the main running back next year. and we should have sheppard returnin kicks. he is a electric athlete and will never be the star qb so he should be returning kicks.

LSU needs playmakers returning kicks. Brooks is adequate but is never going to "make a play" in the return game. This is kinda like Leslie having Chevis freaking Jackson trying to return punts for the first half of the 2006 season. What was Les thinking? He then put a playmaker in Buster Davis back there and he was much better. We need to try guys like Shepard, Randle, John Williams, Ford etc (playmakers who are used to having the ball in their hands).

Brooks is the nastiest guy on the team. Even nastier than Landry was imo.. Dude is looking for contact EVERY play and wants to hurt people.

There's a reason he's out ST Ace.

If he's not a starting CB I'd be all for it. At the very least, though, I think he's probably the nickel back. I know plenty of DBs have returned punts, but how much gas would he have after chasing WRs up and down the field for an entire series.

Since Miles has been here we have not had a PR. It took 4 1/2 years for TH to learn to catch a punt. He was a great KO returner, easier to catch a KO.

This. Brooks is fast and explosive. And he's always looking to light someone up.

My thoughts, he wasnt a starter on O or D. He never drops or fumbles. Add those two and the fact that his averages were not that bad then ou have a solid returner you can rely on.

I think Ron Brooks was a QB in high school. Dude was ELECTRIC with the ball in high school. His highlight reel was the best I had seen of an LSU recruit the year he signed.

I would like to see some competition for PR 4-5 guys. Let's see if we can get a S Green like Saban had.
